BEIJING: On the invitation of his counterpart Li Keqiang, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif arrived in China’s capital city on Tuesday for a two-day official visit with a high-level team.Additionally, PM Shehbaz is making his first trip to China since taking office in April of this year. During his discussions with officials in Beijing, the prime minister is anticipated to emphasise revitalising the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).
The Chinese premier welcomed PM Shehbaz and his delegation with open arms when they arrived in Beijing, greeting them at the Beijing Capital Airport.The prime minister and his delegation were greeted at the airport by Pakistan’s ambassadors accredited to China.Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari is one among the members of PM Shehbaz’s high-level delegation, according to a statement from the Foreign Office before departure.
The premier declared that he was “honoured to be among the first few leaders to have been invited following the historic 20th National Congress of the CPC” before leaving for Beijing.He said that the second phase of CPEC is expected to usher in a new era of socioeconomic development that will improve the standard of living for our people.
