Ned Price, a spokeswoman for the US State Department, told reporters on Tuesday in Washington that the US cherishes its ongoing partnership with Pakistan, according to Dunya News.
Ned Price said that Wendy Sherman, the deputy secretary of the US, had the chance to speak with Qamar Javed Bajwa, the chief of the Pakistani army. He said that we frequently meet and communicate with Pakistani authorities about a variety of topics. But as is custom, we don’t necessarily get into the specifics of such encounters.
He said that our interests are similar in a number of areas. When we have high-level interactions with our Pakistani colleagues, the stability and future of Afghanistan and the Afghan people, as well as the security problems that the area and maybe beyond confront, are constantly on the agenda.
In response to a query on steps to ensure that flood relief help reaches the eligible individuals, Ned Price replied that in this regard, we have proper tracking methods. Staff from USAID travels often to check on our projects on the ground.
According to him, USAID staff members visited more than ten flood-affected areas in the provinces of Balochistan and Sindh to examine the humanitarian situation as well as the response efforts being made and to ensure that they were addressing the needs of the local population.
He explained that in order to ensure that the response actions fulfil the humanitarian requirements, USAID also collaborates with regional partners and organisations that have in-depth understanding of the impacted areas and people.
