Top run scorers and wicket-takers in the 2023 Asian Games Men’s T20I after Pakistan vs. Afghanistan
Afghanistan defeated Pakistan by four runs in the second semi-final to advance to the final against India for the gold medal. The contest was held in Hangzhou at the Pingfeng Campus Cricket Field.
Pakistan was assigned to bat first on a batting surface by Afghanistan. In their opening innings, Pakistan could only muster 115/10 in 18 overs. Omair Yousuf, an opener, scored the most with 24 runs off 19 balls.
Other batters offered him no assistance as they were run out for 115 runs with two overs left in the innings. With three wickets, Fareed Ahmed was Afghanistan’s standout bowler. Each of Qais Ahmad and Zahir Khan took two wickets.
As a response, Afghanistan quickly lost both of its starters, Sadiqullah Atal and Mohammad Shahzad. Shahidullah Kamal, the fourth batsman, later had a two-ball duck to further compound Afghanistan’s situation.
Noor Ali Zadran, however, solidly held one end, scoring 39 runs off 33 balls while hitting four fours and two sixes. Gulbadin Naib, the captain, struck an unbroken 26 runs off 19 balls, including one four and three sixes, to lead his team to win with 13 balls remaining.
On October 7, Saturday, Afghanistan and India will square off in the championship match, with Bangladesh and Pakistan competing for the bronze medal on the same day.
