ISLAMABAD: China has announced that it will temporarily close the consular division of its embassy in Pakistan due to “technical concerns.”
The Chinese embassy gave no precise details regarding the nature of the problems or a projected timeframe for the consular section’s reopening.
The consular section of the Chinese embassy briefly shuttered, and a notice was posted on its official website informing the public of this. The shutdown will continue until further instructions, claims the statement.
According to the notice, technical issues would cause the consular section of the Chinese embassy in Islamabad to temporarily close on February 13, 2023, until further notice.
The Chinese government has also advised its people to use extreme caution while visiting Pakistan due to the security situation. On Saturday, the consular section of the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs warned its citizens that there was a chance for extremely tight security.
