Qamar Zaman Kaira, a PPP lawmaker and advisor to the prime minister on Kashmir issues, criticised Chairman Imran Khan of the PTI for constantly lying.
“The future commander of the Pakistan Army will be one of the five most senior generals. Since no one from outside the Pakistan Army will be named army chief, [the subject is not worth discussing].”
According to Kaira, Shehbaz Sharif, the prime minister, travelled to London to meet with his party’s head. When he travels back home, he said, he will discuss the matter with the PPP leadership and Maulana Fazlur Rehman.
Nawaz Sharif, the leader of the PML-N, met with Shehbaz Sharif in London. Shehbaz Sharif stated that the selection of the army chief is a constitutional issue and will be handled as such while speaking to the media in London.
According to sources, PM Shehbaz spoke with Maryam and Nawaz Sharif for more than two hours. Regarding the choices made in the Nawaz-Shehbaz huddle, the PDM leadership will be treated in confidence.
