Dost Muhammad Mazari, a PTI dissident member and former deputy speaker of the provincial legislature, was taken into custody by the Punjab Anti-Corruption Establishment (ACE) on Saturday in connection with the land grabbing case.
Punjab ACE detained Dost Mazari in a “land grabbing” issue
Mazari was supposed to appear in front of the ACE on October 11 for allegedly occupying government property illegally, but he did not.
Following disregard for the summons, the ACE made the decision to bring a case against Mazari.
The ACE also called on Zahid Mazari, Sher Muhammad Mazari, and Moazzam Mazari.
Rojhan, an assistant commissioner, reported that Mazari had taken hundreds of acres of public land.
Sources claimed that Punjab’s anti-corruption agency had confiscated all of the relevant documents about the property.
Mazari’s cousin confirmed the detention, saying the dissident PTI lawmaker was taken into custody at a private hospital after visiting his ill grandfather there.
He said, “ACE staff members forcibly arrested Mazari and transported him to an undisclosed place.”
The lawmaker’s cousin claimed that Mazari was detained on the orders of Punjab Chief Minister Pervaiz Elahi and PTI leader Imran Khan.
