The superintendent of Attock Jail has been asked to PTI to provide a report by a Special Court established under the Official Secrets Act for failing to arrange for the PTI chairman to speak with his sons on the phone.
PTI: Report requested from the jailer at Attock for preventing the PTI president from speaking on the phone with his sons
Shiraz Ranjha, the PTI chief’s attorney, informed the court that his client had not yet been found guilty in the cipher case.
He said that the former prime minister was being held on judicial detention in Attock Jail. Even though the previous prime minister was acquitted in the case, he said, the culprits were still subject to the Official Secrets Act or the Punjab Jail Laws.
All of the defendants, according to attorney Ranjha, were able to communicate with their families through telephone. For the past three years, they had enjoyed the facilities.
He said that it was wrong to deny the PTI chairman access to the facility.
The PTI attorney requested a postponement of the case until September 26 and asked the court to hold the superintendent of the Attock Jail in contempt of court.
The decision was written by Judge Abual Hasnat Zulqarnain in the open court. Shiraz Ranjha, a lawyer for PTI, asked that the hearing be continued until September 26.
The judge predicted that the PTI chairman’s judicial remand will end on September 26. He promised to speak with the jailer directly.
The judge later postponed the hearing until September 28.
