ISLAMABAD: On Tuesday, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif sent a new letter to Pakistan’s Chief Justice Umar Ata Bandial asking the creation of a judicial panel to look into the attempted murder of PTI Chairman Imran Khan.The CJP has been tasked by the prime minister to assemble a judicial panel made up of all of the Supreme Court’s available judges.
According to the letter, the commission can specifically look into five issues: who was in charge of protecting the convoy from law enforcement; whether security protocols and other standard operating procedures were put in place to secure the convoy; whether these protocols were followed; and the specifics of the incident.
