Pakistan on Saturday vehemently denounced the abominable act of the Holy Quran‘s destruction in Sweden, emphasising how the action wounded the feelings of the world’s 1.5 billion Muslims.Rasmus Paludan, the head of the Danish far-right party Stram Kurs (Hard Line), was condemned for burning the Holy Quran outside the Turkish Embassy in Stockholm.
The burning of the Quran was condemned by Turkey and a number of Arab nations, including Saudi Arabia, Jordan, and Kuwait. The Saudi Foreign Ministry issued a statement in which it stated that Saudi Arabia “calls for spreading the ideals of discourse, tolerance, and coexistence and opposes intolerance and extremism.”
Turkiye has also expressed its strong disapproval of the event, with Ankara cancelling the defence minister of Sweden’s visit and stating that “it’s a racist activity, it’s not about freedom of expression.”
According to a statement from Pakistan’s Foreign Office, the religious sensibilities of billions of Muslims throughout the world are harmed by this stupid and aggressive Islamophobic act.
The ministry asserted that such actions are not protected by any appropriate exercise of the right to freedom of expression or of opinion, which is subject to obligations under international human rights law, including the prohibition against using hate speech and inciting others to violence.
