In 2022, Morgan Freeman and BTS Jungkook’s performances at the World Cup in Qatar were the talks of the town thanks to their incredible vocals.
After a film of the desert and the ocean waves played as an introduction to the event, Morgan Freeman’s commanding voice shouted from the platform, “From this place, we heard a cry to the world to unite, to return if only for a minute to that which may bring us together.”
On November 20th, Freeman reportedly stepped on the pitch of Al Bayt Stadium during the opening minutes of the grandiose opening ceremony and said, “So, we assemble here as one large tribe, and Earth is the tent we live in.”
In 2010, the Shawshank Redemption actor was a vocal supporter of America’s quest to host the 2022 World Cup.
It was an hour long and included both Freeman and BTS’s Jungkook. He played his latest hit, Dreamers, for a crowd of around 60,000.
The news source claims that throughout his performance, Jungkook was surrounded by dancers and established a precedent for future acts at World Cup opening ceremonies.
