The “Jawan” movie starring Shah Rukh Khan has surpassed the $100 million mark at the box office.
Red Chillies Entertainment, the film’s producers, reported that the movie has now made $103 million globally. The movie has made $68.5 million in India.
‘Jawan’ by Shah Rukh Khan surpasses the $100 million mark at the box office
After “Pathaan,” which debuted in January and earned $130 million at the box office throughout its run, and starred Khan as well, “Jawan” is currently the second-highest grossing Indian movie of the year. With $82 million, Sunny Deol’s “Gadar 2” is currently in third place, and Rajinikanth’s “Jailer” is in fourth place with $76.6 million.
“The Nun II” and “A Haunting in Venice” took the top two spots with $44.8 million and $37.2 million, respectively, while “Jawan” came in third with $17.7 million.
The Sept. 7 release of Atlee’s film “Jawan,” which stars Khan in a dual role as a father and son determined to fight corruption in Indian culture, broke the actor’s own Bollywood opening day record. The weekend before, it had the second-highest worldwide box office.
Khan has had a busy 2023; “Pathaan” served as a comeback for him after his underwhelming 2018 film “Zero,” and only appearances in the subsequent movies “Laal Singh Chaddha” and “Brahmastra Part One: Shiva” (all of which were released in 2022).
Amazingly, the celebrity has still got the year to go. He has “Dunki,” a film by Rajkumar Hirani that will be released around Christmas. With his blockbuster movies like the “Munna Bhai” series starring Sanjay Dutt and Arshad Warsi, “Sanju” featuring Ranbir Kapoor, and “PK” and “3 Idiots” both starring Aamir Khan, Hirani has a reputation for consistently producing hits.
One of Bollywood’s greatest romantic actors is Shah Rukh Khan. But “Pathaan” and “Jawan” both fit neatly into the action category, while “Dunki” is anticipated to be a comedy-drama. Before Sanjay Dutt won the part, Khan was one of the actors being considered for Hirani’s 2003 breakout success “Munna Bhai M.B.B.S.”
