Imran Khan contests the National Assembly membership restriction
Imran Khan, the leader of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), filed a petition with the Islamabad High Court (IHC) to challenge the suspension of National Assembly membership.
Imran Khan has asked the court to overturn the Election Commission of Pakistan’s decision to de-notify him as MNA from NA-95 in his case.
Imran Khan had already been denotified by ECP from the NA-95 Mianwali-I constituency following his disqualification in the Toshakhana reference.
Imran Khan was convicted by the electoral board in the Toshakhana reference under Article 63(1)(p) after it was discovered that he had presented a fraudulent affidavit and engaged in corrupt behaviour.
