Imran Khan, a former prime minister and the leader of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), stated on Saturday that he will announce the long march’s start date the following week.
At a press conference on Saturday, he and Senator Azam Swati stated that although there are always backchannel discussions taking place, they don’t seem to produce any results.
The former prime minister claimed that the day the imported authorities took over, they began working with the media outlets to spread misinformation against him and his party.
Imran Khan claimed that the May 25 long march participants had been subjected to horrific torture and home invasions, adding that the entire country is aware of them. The PTI chairman continued by claiming that although the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) chose vulnerable districts for the by-elections, rigging in Karachi is evident to all.
Earlier today, the PTI Chairman appealed the Election Commission of Pakistan’s (ECP) decision to disqualify him in the Toshakhana case before the Islamabad High Court (IHC).
According to information, counsel Ali Zaffar submitted the IHC petition on Imran Khan’s behalf, the chairman of the PTI. The petition asked that the Election Commission should not have the power to decide cases of corruption and disqualification.
Additionally, it was requested that the court declare the ECP ruling invalid and that it hear the case that same day.
The petition was submitted to the IHC without a copy of the Election Commission’s judgement, according to persons with knowledge of the situation; a copy of the request for a copy of the decision is attached.
The registrar’s office has objected in a number of ways to Khan’s request. According to the objection, Khan did not arrange for biometric verification to be completed. Although it was also stated that there is no rush to hear it today, it is required in this circumstance.
Ali Muhammad Bukhari, Imran Khan’s attorney, however, claimed that although he attempted to obtain a copy of the detailed judgement, ECP had yet to release it.
He added that, in accordance with the law, copies of the judgement were sent to both parties after the judgement was announced, but the legal department of the ECP is claiming that the verdict is missing a member’s signature.
Additionally, he claimed that ECP was breaking the law, which is a terrible thing to do.
The attorney for Imran Khan urged that the Election Commission’s conduct be subject to judicial proceedings. He stated, “I have been outside the Election Commission for an hour and nothing is being said. He further questioned how the ECP could claim that the judgement was unanimous when one member did not.
