Despite losing two straight games in the upcoming ICC T20 World Cup 2022, fast bowler Haris Rauf believes Pakistan will recover.
India defeated Pakistan at the Melbourne Cricket Ground, and then unexpectedly defeated former champions Zimbabwe in Perth. The next game for Babar’s team is against the Netherlands on Sunday at Perth Stadium.
Haris Rauf is “hurt” yet unmoved by criticism during the T20 World Cup
Prior to the game, Haris stated that the team is optimistic but cautioned against becoming complacent.
“In international cricket, you cannot refer to any team as the lesser side; instead, you must show respect to all teams when you compete against them. Everyone is there to win the tournament, so you must give every team you play your all, he stated.
The Pakistani pacer continued, “Zimbabwe played well the other day and won against us.
Although Haris acknowledged that Pakistan didn’t get off to the tournament’s best start, his squad did perform effectively in both games.
In spite of being so close to winning both games, Haris noted, “We lost both games despite giving it everything we had.”
“We feel the same pain as any cricket fan would. We still have three games left in the tournament, and we are optimistic that we can win them. The fast bowler continued, “We can yet make a comeback.
Despite the discouraging losses, Haris claimed that the team is cohesive and the players are supporting one another.
The fast bowler noted that following two losses, the squad got together to assess its performance and figure out how to correct its flaws.
“We have reviewed our errors and will improve,” he added of the two games that were not properly completed.
The Pakistani pacer stated, “We are focusing on our cricket and not listening too much to what is being said outside.
In response to a query, Haris added that if his team loses games, his performance personally isn’t happy.
