Imran Khan, the leader of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), need an additional two weeks to heal from a leg injury, according to senior vice president of the PTI Fawad Chaudhry on Wednesday.
His remarks follow a Lahore High Court (LHC) judgement requiring Mr. Khan to personally appear before the court to file a protective bail request in a case brought against him due to his involvement in a protest outside the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) headquarters.
Mr. Chaudhry claimed that Mr. Imran was not a participant in the protest and that the charges brought against him were absurdly false. He said, “He wants to appear in court, but doctors have advised him against moving since it could break apart the sick bone. He said that Mr. Khan would be attacked and that his counsel had asked the court to provide a guarantor for his security while he was away.
He claimed that unlike Nawaz Sharif, Mr. Imran will not flee to London. He continued, “He took bullets for Pakistanis.” He informed the judge that our attorney will show up on Thursday.
