Los Angeles Walt Disney announced it will raise pricing for viewers who want to watch Disney+ or Hulu without commercials after surpassing Netflix in terms of total streaming subscribers with 221 million.
In December, when it starts to offer a new option that includes commercials at the existing price, the media conglomerate will boost the monthly cost of Disney+ without advertising by 38% to $10.99.
In after-hours trading on Wednesday, Disney stock increased 6.9% to $120.15.
