KABUL: According to officials, a blast struck a mosque in the Afghan capital on Wednesday near the closely guarded interior ministry facility, leaving at least two people dead and 18 others injured.The Kabul explosion’s cause was not immediately known by the administration, despite the fact that insurgents had recently carried out several attacks there.
Abdul Nafi Takor, a spokesman for the interior ministry, stated that both visitors and staff members occasionally used the mosque.The Afghan hospital sponsored by the Italian NGO Emergency announced on Twitter that it had treated 20 victims of the explosion, two of whom had already passed away.Next to the Kabul International Airport is a secure region where the interior ministry facility is located.
