Indonesia’s Malang: Authorities said that at least 125 people were murdered and more than 320 others were hurt in a stampede at an Indonesian soccer stadium on Sunday. This incident was one of the biggest stadium catastrophes ever recorded.After the game ended on Saturday night in Malang, East Java, angry fans of the losing home team invaded the field. Officers used tear gas to try to disperse them, according to the region’s police head Nico Afinta.

They began assaulting police officers, causing damage to automobiles, “Nico added, adding that the crowd swarmed to an exit gate as they escaped.Some local authorities reported 174 fatalities, however East Java Deputy Governor Emil Dardak indicated the number has since been lowered down to 125.
He suggested that the earlier number may have contained duplicate fatalities.An increase from the initial estimate of 180 injuries to 323 injuries, according to an East Java police official.
