India won its first match against Pakistan
Many cricket fans expressed their dissatisfaction with the team’s performance on social media after Sunday’s thrilling T20 World Cup opener, in which India defeated Pakistan by four wickets.
But when the Pakistani squad fought valiantly to the latter end and did everything in its power to keep the game alive, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif stepped in to save the day and threw the Green Shirts under the bus.
The PM posted on Twitter: “Team Pakistan made an excellent effort. wonderful game.”PML-N Vice President Maryam Nawaz expressed similar views and expressed support for the squad’s upcoming game. She praised the team for their efforts.
“Going down after putting up a brave battle is not shameful. The effort is what counts, and today we saw a lot of it. The game was a complete cliffhanger that might have gone either way. Boys, get ready for the next battle!”
