Chris Evans refutes reports that he signed a bomb.

The Captain America actor was allegedly signing an Israeli bomb that will murder innocent civilians in Gaza, according to fans.

Earlier this year, a photo of Chris Evans seemingly signing an item resembling a missile or bomb led to online speculation that he was writing on a missile bound for Gaza.

The picture received considerable criticism online, prompting the ‘Captain America’ actor to respond to the rumourss on social media.

A post on X (formerly Twitter) on February 5, 2024, remarked that “Captain America signing bombs to drop on children is the most American thing he’s ever done,” alluding to Evans’ well-known portrayal of the Marvel Comics superhero. Similarly, a post on Facebook alleged, “Captain America actor Chris Evans signs an Israeli bomb that will kill innocent civilians in Gaza.”

Evans responded by sharing his explanation and a screenshot fromthe AFP’sAFP’s website quoting the US Air Force. “There’s a lot of misinformation surrounding this picture. Some clarification: This image was taken during a USO tour in 2016. I went with a group of actathletes, letes, and musicians to show appreciation for our service members. The object I was asked to sign is not a bomb, missile, or weapon of any kind. It’s an inert object used for training or display purposes only. You can read the quote from the Air Force in the next story,“ read a caption from the actor’s Instagram Stories.

This speculation coincides with the ‘Blackout 2024’ trend, where celebrities, including Kim Kardashian, Justin Bieber, and Taylor Swift, have faced criticism for maintaining silence during the Gaza conflict, resulting in a loss of followers.

Increased costs for AI affected Dell’s profit and margin.

Dell (DELL.N) provided a current-quarter profit outlook below market expectations on Thursday, citing higher costs associated with building servers tailored for heavy AI workloads, which would impact its annual margin. Consequently, its shares plunged over 17% in after-hours trading.

The Round Rock, Texas-based company anticipates a decline of approximately 150 basis points in adjusted gross margin rate for fiscal 2025. For the current quarter, it projects adjusted profit per share of $1.65, with a margin of plus or minus 10 cents, compared to analysts’ average estimate of $1.84, as per LSEG data.

Chief Financial Officer Yvonne McGill mentioned during an earnings call that inflationary input costs, competitive pressures, and an increased mix of AI-optimized servers are expected to contribute to the decline in gross margin rate.

The surge in demand for high-performance computing and large-scale data centers, driven by the growing adoption of generative AI, has led to increased investments in AI-capable products, including servers offered by Dell.

Mikako Kitagawa, director analyst at Gartner, noted that Dell’s margin decline reflects the competitive pricing environment and attempts by competitors to gain market share.

Dell reported a significant increase in shipments of AI-optimized servers, reaching $1.7 billion, with backlog growing over 30% to $3.8 billion, according to Chief Operating Officer Jeff Clarke.

The company recently unveiled AI-enabled PCs powered by Qualcomm (QCOM.O) processors and announced the availability of a new server supporting Nvidia’s (NVDA.O) latest chips in the second half of 2024.

Despite its stock doubling this year and reaching a record high, Dell forecasted second-quarter revenue between $23.5 billion and $24.5 billion, exceeding the average estimate of $23.21 billion.

Additionally, Dell raised its revenue forecast for fiscal 2025 to a range of $93.5 billion to $97.5 billion, up from the previous projection of $91 billion to $95 billion.

In the first quarter ended May 3, revenue increased by 6% to $22.24 billion, ending a streak of six consecutive quarters of declines. Adjusted profit aligned closely with analysts’ estimates.

The revenue for the infrastructure solutions group, encompassing storage, software, and server offerings, surged by 22% to $9.23 billion, while the client solutions group, comprising PCs, remained flat.

Tesla is recalling 125,227 cars due to a malfunctioning seat belt warning system.

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration announced on Friday that Tesla is recalling 125,227 vehicles in the United States due to a defect in its seat belt warning system. This malfunction poses an increased risk of injury in the event of a collision as the seat belt warning light and audible chime may not activate when the driver is unbelted, failing to meet federal safety requirements.

The recall impacts specific models, including certain 2012-2024 Model S, 2015-2024 Model X, 2017-2023 Model 3, and 2020-2023 Model Y vehicles. Tesla plans to address the issue through an over-the-air software update, set to begin deployment in June.

The remedy involves modifying the software to eliminate reliance on the driver seat occupancy sensor, instead activating the seat belt reminder signals based solely on the driver seat belt buckle and ignition status, according to the NHTSA.

This recall follows Tesla’s previous recalls in January and April, involving software malfunctions affecting visibility during reversing and a loose accelerator pedal pad, respectively.

Moreover, US auto safety regulators are investigating the adequacy of Tesla’s recall announced in December, involving over 2 million vehicles, aimed at installing new Autopilot safeguards, following a series of crashes.

One Tech Tip: Would you like to disable Meta AI?

If you’re a user of Facebook, WhatsApp, or Instagram, you’ve probably encountered a new presence popping up in your feeds — Meta AI. According to Meta Platforms’ CEO Mark Zuckerberg, it’s touted as “the most intelligent AI assistant that you can freely use.”

This chatbot is designed to provide assistance by offering recommendations for local restaurants, providing additional information on Facebook posts, searching for flights, or generating images swiftly. For instance, if you’re planning a night out with friends, you can invite Meta AI into your group conversation and ask for recommendations on cocktail bars.

Meta’s AI tool has been seamlessly integrated into chat boxes and search bars across the company’s platforms. It appears prominently, such as at the top of your chat list on Messenger. Users can ask it questions or request it to “imagine” something, and it will generate a corresponding picture or animation.

However, like any new technology, there have been some hiccups, with instances of bizarre exchanges when the chatbots first interacted with real people. Despite its functionalities, Meta AI hasn’t been universally welcomed, prompting some users to seek ways to avoid its usage.

Unfortunately, there isn’t a straightforward method to completely disable Meta AI across Facebook, Instagram, Messenger, or WhatsApp. However, users can employ some imperfect workarounds to limit its presence.

One option is to mute Meta AI temporarily. On the Facebook mobile app, tapping the “search” button may prompt the appearance of Meta AI. From there, users can tap on the blue triangle, followed by the blue circle with an “i” inside it. Here, there’s a “mute” button offering options to silence the chatbot for 15 minutes or longer, or until manually changed. A similar process can be done on Instagram.

However, muting Meta AI doesn’t entirely remove it. The chatbot’s circle logo might still be visible, and tapping on it will direct users to the Meta AI field.

OpenAI addresses former board members’ concerns about self-governance

The board of OpenAI responded to allegations made by former members regarding the circumstances surrounding Sam Altman’s departure as CEO last year. In an article published in the Economist, the current board stated that their review did not find concerns over AI safety or statements made to investors, customers, or partners as reasons for Altman’s ouster.

The board emphasized Altman’s transparency and collaboration with the management team during their regular interactions over six months. This contradicts claims made by former board members Helen Toner and Tasha McCauley, who stood by their decision to dismiss Altman, citing the board’s duty to oversee the company’s mission.

Toner and McCauley expressed concerns about the company’s governance following Altman’s return as CEO and the departure of senior safety-focused talent. OpenAI’s current board, chaired by Bret Taylor, acknowledged the importance of effective AI regulation and stated that the company has engaged in discussions with government officials on AI-related issues.

Furthermore, OpenAI announced the formation of a safety and security committee, led by board members, as part of its efforts to train its next AI model.

How AI affects kids’ creativity

University of Washington researchers collaborated with a group of 12 children aged seven to 13 to investigate how AI tools might influence their creativity. They found that while children could integrate AI into their creative processes, they often required support from adults and peers. The study, presented at the ACM CHI Conference on Human Factors in Computing Systems, aimed to explore a balanced approach where AI supports rather than replaces creativity in children.

The study’s lead author, Michele Newman, highlighted the need for ethical and meaningful practices around AI technology, particularly in children’s creative endeavors. The research involved observing children’s interactions with AI tools like ChatGPT and Dall-E, as well as structured activities like story writing using specific software.

Key findings revealed that AI systems were not tailored for children, leading to mismatches between expectations and capabilities. Children demonstrated nuanced ethical considerations, such as the impact of AI-generated content on the authenticity of creative expression. The study emphasized the importance of supporting individual creative processes and fostering meaningful experiences with AI through collaborative networks of support from adults and peers.

The research involved multiple co-authors from various disciplines and was partly funded by the U.S. Institute for Museum and Library Services.

Using WhatsApp’s AI image capability in a conversation is explained here.

WhatsApp, owned by Meta, has introduced a novel AI image feature enhancing chatroom interactions. This innovative addition, known as the Imagine feature, enables users to create AI images seamlessly within conversations, adding dynamism and visual appeal.

To utilize this feature, users can simply tap on the attachment icon within the chat room, revealing a range of options including the Imagine feature, denoted by a distinct ring-shaped, gradient-colored icon.

Moreover, WhatsApp has also rolled out an AI Profile Photo Maker in its beta update version 2.24.11.17. This tool empowers users to craft unique profile pictures using advanced AI technology, providing them with a personalized and standout appearance.

This enhancement underscores WhatsApp’s commitment to refining and broadening its AI capabilities. In previous tests, WhatsApp explored enabling users to share files, including photos and videos, with nearby users sans internet connection. Additionally, the platform is reportedly developing an in-app dialler, as per Business Standard.

Although the feature enabling file sharing among nearby users is currently undergoing testing in the beta version, Meta has yet to commence testing the in-app dialler, with its availability restricted to the app’s early version.

Pitching Dreams: How Pakistan Can Build a Football Legacy Like Manchester

” By Muhammad Saad Ismail

It’s inspiring to see the passion and enthusiasm for football in Pakistan, especially with the historic win against Cambodia in the World Cup Qualifier 2nd Leg match at Jinnah Football Stadium in Islamabad. The victory indeed opened doors for the Pakistan Football Federation, allowing the team to face formidable opponents like Saudi Arabia and Tajikistan.

The focus on audience engagement over mere results is commendable. Football’s universal appeal, whether played on sandy African soil or the icy terrains of Europe, is undeniable, and it’s exciting to see Pakistan embracing this sport with open arms. The potential for growth in the football industry in Pakistan is significant, as highlighted by the production of high-quality footballs and the viewership numbers during global events.

The upcoming match on 6th June between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia is poised to be a pivotal moment for football in the country. It’s an opportunity to showcase the nation’s love for the sport and to demonstrate the capability to host major competitions. Improving the broadcast quality to match the clarity of cricket coverage could further enhance the viewing experience and support the growth of football in Pakistan.

The development of football in Pakistan can indeed follow the trajectory of famous football cities like Manchester and Berlin, where the crowd’s energy and support are integral to the game’s atmosphere. With systematic efforts and improved facilities, the Pakistan Football Federation can foster a robust football culture that nurtures talent and excites fans.

As for the concerns about the quality of football broadcasts, it’s essential for the federation and broadcasters to work together to ensure that fans can enjoy the game with the clarity they deserve. *My perspective on this matter is as follows:

Journalism plays a crucial role in shaping public opinion, holding those in power accountable, and fostering an informed society. However, like many countries, it faces its own set of responsibilities and challenges. Here, we delve into the key aspects of Pakistani journalism, its responsibilities, and the hurdles it encounters.

Responsibilities;

  1. Informing the Public: The foremost responsibility of Pakistani journalism is to provide accurate and timely information to the public, enabling citizens to make informed decisions about their lives and their country.
  2. Upholding Democratic Values: Pakistani journalists are tasked with upholding democratic principles, such as freedom of speech and the press, and ensuring that the voices of all segments of society are heard.

3.Fostering Accountability: Journalists serve as watchdogs, holding government officials, public figures, and institutions accountable for their actions and decisions. This involves investigative reporting to uncover corruption, inefficiency, and wrongdoing.

  1. Promoting Diversity: journalism should reflect the diversity of its society, including various ethnicities, religions, and cultural backgrounds, to foster inclusivity and understanding among its citizens.
  2. Championing Human Rights: Journalists have a responsibility to shed light on human rights abuses, advocate for marginalized communities, and amplify their voices to effect positive change.
download 11

*Challenges Facing Pakistani Journalism:

  1. Threats to Press Freedom: Journalists in Pakistan often face threats, harassment, and violence, both from state actors and non-state actors, leading to self-censorship and a chilling effect on free speech.
  2. Censorship and Control:
3.The government and powerful interest groups exert control over media outlets through censorship, advertising revenue, and legal intimidation, limiting the scope of independent reporting.
  3. Safety Concerns: Journalists in Pakistan risk their lives to report on sensitive issues such as terrorism, religious extremism, and political corruption, leading to targeted attacks, kidnappings, and even assassinations.
  4. Lack of Training and Resources: Many journalists in Pakistan lack proper training, resources, and support systems, hindering their ability to produce high-quality, investigative journalism.
  5. Ethical Dilemmas: In the pursuit of sensationalism and ratings, some media outlets in Pakistan prioritize entertainment over informative content, compromising journalistic ethics and integrity.

Conclusion:

Pakistani journalism shoulders the weighty responsibility of informing, engaging, and empowering the public, despite facing numerous challenges. To overcome these hurdles and fulfill its mandate, Pakistani journalists require greater support from the government, civil society, and the international community to safeguard press freedom, enhance professionalism, and uphold the highest ethical standards. Only then can Pakistani journalism truly serve as a beacon of democracy and accountability in the nation.

Leading the Way in Fire Safety: Rescue 1122 Marks International Firefighters Day

Written By: Miss Deeba Shahnaz Akhter

The leading Emergency Service of South Asia Rescue 1122 is observing International Firefighters Day with the commitment to aware public on fire safety and ensure implementation of The Punjab Community Safety Buildings Regulations 2022. These Regulations have been notified under Punjab Community Safety Act 2021. Rescue 1122 had introduced a prompt Fire Emergency Response trend in 2007 in Pakistan and today Fire Rescue Service saved losses worth over Rs 664 billion in over 2 lac fire incidents by improved fire Emergency Response and professional firefighting on modern lines. In this short history of professional response, Firefighters even lost their lives while saving lives and properties of others. Now it’s the time to promote fire safety especially in high rise buildings for which the buildings owners needs to cooperate with Emergency Service and contribute towards Safety culture in Pakistan.

Every year, 4th May is observed as International Firefighters day to pay tribute and show solidarity to fire rescuers, who serve for protection and safety of the communities. The date chosen for International firefighters’ day was linked to the feast day of ST Florian, who was the first known commander of one firefighting squad in Roman Empire. He along with his colleagues lost their lives in one of the tragic wild fire incidents.

These silent defenders, true sons of soil and unsung heroes are known as Fire Rescuers. Fire rescuers are respected all over the world due to the nature of unique and risky job they perform. Firefighting profession is highly technical, structured and supplied with various artifacts, which helps to decide actions in unpredictable and complex situation. It involves special skills to fight with flames, rescue the trapped victims and save properties. Formal trainings related to firefighting helps to minimize risk by practicing safety procedures and get command over them.

History reveals that developed countries had also faced major fire incidents. One of the major fire incidents in the history of United States occurred at James Town in 1608, left large losses of lives and properties. Great fire of London Sept 1666 ruined many buildings included 13,200 house, 87 churches and left many direct and indirect losses. Similarly, Boston city experienced ravaging for administration to give a serious thought to firefighting and fire prevention. Consequently, new courts and rules regarding firefighting including laws pertaining to the uses of open spaces and fire resistant building material were developed. Firefighting departments were also established. Likewise major terrorist attack in New York City and Washington DC witnessed the firefighters as the primary first responders responded the incident and more than 300 firefighters lost their lives while responding to attack on the world Trade Center. West fertilizer co-explosion on 3 May, 2013 highlighted the tough and volatile work of firefighters.

In Pakistan, the Emergency Service Rescue 1122 earned respect and public trust within short span of time. Resultantly, the challenge of establishing fire service was also given and with support of then Scottish Parliamentarian Ch Muhammad Sarwar and Lates Hanzala Malik Rescue Officers had received international fire and rescue training, which was replicated to all fire staff at Emergency Services Academy and started Fire Rescue Service in 2007. As per data of Emergency Service of last year, Fire Rescue Service is managing an average 56 fire incidents daily in Punjab and short circuits, negligence and carelessness have become leading causes of fire emergencies.

It is also pertinent to mention that immediate safety measure like Fire exits and stairs separated by fire doors, fire alarm system, esxternal fire hydrants for firefighting, sprinkle system in multi storey buildings may be installed to prevent fires. Moreover, the fire emergencies caused by negligence can be prevented with little vigilance and care while using gas heaters, kitchen stoves, candles and domestic accessories. Always use standardized electrical and gas appliances, Shut off all appliances before sleeping and going out from the building. Furthermore, a degree program related to firefighting and fire safety needs to be started to increase the number of professionals in this field and promote safety in the country.

On this special day, I would like to pay rich tribute to 13 Shaheed fire Rescuers of Ghakkar Plaza disaster, who sacrificed their lives during fire and rescue operation and changed the firefighting history in the country. These unsung heroes were from Pakistan Ordinance Factory Wah, Rescue 1122, City Fire Brigade and Civil Aviation Authority. They proved that firefighters do not only sprinkle water on the flames from outside rather they are passionate and even can sacrifice their lives for protecting others. Their countless efforts to transform this profession shall always be remembered. May Allah rests their souls in Heaven, who sacrificed their lives to save others and salute to the real heroes of the nations from all over the world for their countless efforts for developing safer communities in their respective countries.

“Fiscal Responsibility: Overhauling Pakistan’s Pension Scheme for Long-Term Stability”

By Isha

With the growing debt burden day by day, when it seems too late finally Pakistan’s government decided to save the drowning ship that is Pakistan’s economic condition. On weighing scale between revenues and expenditures our economy has a lot on the side of expenditures, in the name of so many unnecessary programs which are also non-developmental and will bear no fruit for the country in the long run. Pension is one of those financial burdens for Pakistan’s drowning economy, for which now there is a solution in the funnel. Till now pensions were given as luxuries and not just necessities, they used to be passed on to the third-tier beneficiaries and kept on increasing every year on the basis of the last pension drawn. Furthermore, the candidate could also work at any private and public institute even after retirement from his/her service, resulting in two income streams.

Looking at this scenario going on since the very beginning of Pakistan, after 76 years of mistakes there are amendments on their way in pension scheme. These are not the complete solution but to some extent can control the damage. According to the amendment early retirement cases will have to forgo their 3% of pension every year till the time of their actual retirement, transfers of pension to the next tier will be limited to one tier, and that too for a limited period not for lifetime, in case of employment after retirement candidate will be eligible for either pension or the salary whichever suits him/her the best. All these amendments to some extent can control the pension burden of the country. In my view point, all these amendments should have been a part of the pension scheme a long ago, but better late than never. When a candidate/ employee is no longer serving the government they need to be taken care of, which can be done through providing a lump sum amount to afford a decent living of that time. About the 3% deduction of pension amount in case of early retirement in totally justifiable, as there is a cost for everything, and for every decision there are tradeoffs this applies to both cases that is early retirement and choosing to work somewhere else. For any economic activity both parties need to be at the same page neither will the employer bear any loss nor will the employee stick to the place while having better options elsewhere. In the process of career progression, the void that they create for employers is a lost efficiency for which they need to cover-up, and that cover-up is 3% pension deduction. The basic aim of pensions should be facilitating the vulnerable old age ex-employees, but if they are still able to secure a job and can work after 60 it’s their decision to make in which they are no longer vulnerable and thus are no longer eligible for pension grant when they can still earn for themselves.

About pension transfers to three tiers which are now conditional instead of unconditional which was earlier the case, it can save up a lot on account of pension and can also reduce dependencies which in the long run also create efficiency loss. Secondly, Pension calculations before were based on the last salary drawn, which can cause higher pension amounts due to last-moment promotions or increments. To tackle the issue now pension won’t be calculated on the last drawn salary instead it will be calculated as an average of the last 36 months’ salary, by doing this forced eleventh-hour promotions and increments won’t have any effect on the amount of pension.

The Significance of Pakistan-China Trade Relations

By Hamza khan

The China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) serves as a comprehensive framework for regional connectivity, extending benefits not only to China and Pakistan but also to neighboring countries such as Iran, Afghanistan, the Central Asian Republic, and the broader region. The corridor, launched in 2013 as part of China’s Belt and Road Initiative (BRI), focuses on developing transportation networks, energy infrastructure, and industrial cooperation.

With an estimated construction cost exceeding $46 billion, the CPEC spans approximately 3,000 kilometers from Gwadar Port in southwestern Pakistan to China’s Xinjiang region. This ambitious initiative aims to improve geographical linkages through enhanced road, rail, and air transport systems, fostering frequent and free exchanges of goods and people-to-people contact.

The economic corridor contributes to regional integration by creating a well-connected and integrated region. Beyond economic cooperation, the collaboration between China and Pakistan has deep historical roots, dating back to the 1950s and solidified through the China-Pakistan Boundary Agreement in 1963, providing mutual support during the Cold War and Indo-Pakistani conflicts.

In addition to addressing critical economic needs such as infrastructure development and energy security, the CPEC is expected to turn Pakistan into a regional economic hub. The overall investment will not only boost Pakistan’s economic growth but also enhance investor confidence globally. The corridor includes projects in telecommunications and energy infrastructure, aiming to alleviate Pakistan’s power shortages and create a more stable environment for economic activities.

The development of Special Economic Zones (SEZs) along the corridor is a key aspect of the CPEC, attracting both domestic and foreign investment. The Board of Investment (BOI) collaborates with stakeholders to identify suitable sites for these zones, aiming to promote industrialization, attract foreign direct investment (FDI), and generate employment opportunities.

The defense relationship between Pakistan and China remains robust, characterized by military cooperation, joint exercises, and defense technology transfers. This collaboration strengthens the capabilities of both nations’ armed forces and contributes to regional security. Additionally, the alignment of their positions on global issues enhances their diplomatic influence on the international stage.

Despite its significant potential, the CPEC has faced criticism and challenges, including concerns over debt sustainability, environmental impacts, and geopolitical considerations. Effective management is crucial to ensuring a balanced and sustainable partnership between Pakistan and China.

In conclusion, the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor holds immense significance for trade relations, forging a robust economic partnership with far-reaching implications. Despite challenges, the project’s impact underscores the potential for mutual economic growth, technological exchange, and regional cooperation, laying the foundation for a sustained and dynamic partnership between Pakistan and China.

Plantation only hope of Survival in Pakistan

By Nuzair Ahmed Jamro,

It goes without saying the Human Life does not exist without the existence of living Creatures on global world.  One cannot deny the fact that living things are blessing in disguise for the survival of Life on earth having ecofriendly weather temperature. Plants   are one of such blessing for Humans.

Apropos, it is important source not only for the survival of herbivores animals but also for omnivores. Man is also social animal and omnivores as well. In addition to it, Plants also play pivotal role in keeping the temperature at bay, it acts as thermostat for Land where life can exists.  It is bitter truth that Forests (plants) cool the land because trees draw water from the soil to their leaves, where it then evaporates. Similarly, the energy needed to evaporate the water comes from sunshine and heat in the air. It is the same reason you feel colder when you get out of a pool with water on your skin.

It is true that, forests act as significant carbon sinks, these absorbs carbon dioxide from the atmosphere and produce oxygen through photosynthesis. One large tree can supply a day’s oxygen for up to four people.  These also absorb rainfall and releasing water vapor into the atmosphere through transpiration, which helps regulate local and regional climates. But Deforestation disrupts this cycle, leading to changes in rainfall patterns and an increased risk of droughts and floods.

It is no denying the fact that a single tree in a tropical forest can cause local surface cooling equivalent to 70 kilowatt hours for every 100 liters of water used from the soil as much cooling as two household air conditioners. However, removing trees eliminates a natural filter for particulate matter (PM), which comprises various chemicals that can cause lung and heart diseases.

Those countries love plantation/ Forestation, are surviving climate change and enjoying    life with friendly whether in full swings. It includes Norway,   Finland,    Switzerland, Denmark,    Singapore,    Sweden,    Iceland New Zealand,    Germany and   United Kingdom as reported by ND-GAIN’s overall rankings 2023.

Research concluded that deforestation can heat a local area by as much as 4.5℃.  Moreover, it can even raise temperatures in undisturbed forests up to 6km away. As the forests store vast amounts of carbon. But the deforestation releases this carbon approximately 5.2 billion tonnes of carbon dioxide per year back into the atmosphere

The tropical countries such as Indonesia, Brazil and Congo where the rapid deforestation had contributed up to 75% of the observed surface warming between 1950 and 2010.

As of April and May, 2024, the recent deadly heat wave in the Sahel and West Africa with temperatures above 45°C had hit hard the country.

The scientists found that both, the daytime and nighttime heat waves  would have been impossible if humans had not warmed the planet by burning fossil fuels like oil, coal and gas, and with other activities  specially  deforestation.

Similarly, developing countries like Pakistan is going to hardly survive under the dark cloud of extreme Heat wave every coming year. Every passing day, the vibrant media, fourth pillar of state, comes up with breaking news to shocks people with rising temperate at alarming rate. According to the Global Climate Risk Index Report, Pakistan is the fifth most affected country by climate threats from 1999 to 2018.

In country, the summer, which is the seasons of enjoying school vacations, tourism and mouthwatering fruits, gives the shadow of hell as a result of Big-No for Plantation at   governance level as well. Since given birth on map of south Asia, the country has been combating with multifarious security issues. After crippling economy, rampant corruption, severe drought, extreme poverty and population Bomb, finally the deadly disease of climate change has left no stone unturned to attack the country badly. It is one of the ramifications of increasing deforestation.

Regretfully, In Pakistan, the forestation has been given a dead end by every common man and state in the wake of growing urbanization. The country where population is exploiting at rapid rate at one end and life survival is declining at other hand due to speedy replacement of forest space into to Luxurious housing schemes.

At present the entire country is under the dark cloud of life threatening heat wave and unexpected prolong monsoon rainfall. The country has been going through wave after wave of extreme heat in the past few years. It has become the fate of Pakistani nation beginning with spikes above 50°C in 2010.  Furthermore, another severe heat wave struck in 2015, peaking at 49°C in Larkana, Sindh province and gradually topped by 50.2°C in Nawabshah, Sindh again, in 2018.

Now, the research has found that climate change could make some parts of Pakistan too hot to live in by 2070. Soon the country would face heat waves in night time too like West Africa if the plantation drive would not gear up at right time.

Even the situation is bleak, every dark cloud has silver lining. The nation has witnessed the ray of hope to cope up with deadly consequences of Climate change.

In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government, The Billion Tree Tsunami was started in 2014. One billion trees were planted on 35,000 hectares of forest and barren land. The program was appreciated by United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP).

In addition to it, the Plant for Pakistan, also known as 10 Billion Tree Tsunami, is a five-year project to plant 10 billion trees across Pakistan from 2018 to 2023, the Programme stared in collaboration with Ministry of Climate Change along with Provincial and territorial Forest and Wildlife departments. It is a part of the larger Clean Green Pakistan Movement to revive Forest and Wildlife resources in Pakistan.

Recently, the incumbent government has made headways in order to deal with the rising heat wave as result of deformation. Prime Minister of country launched the countrywide spring plantation drive by planting a sapling with aim to double the number of saplings planted in 2024 compared to the previous year’s achievement of 240 million trees. In May, the Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) has set up relief camps to help reduce instances of heatstroke and other heat-related diseases.

It is high time the successive government must rub shoulders with federal government to chalk our effective strategy in order to tackle the serious matter at grass level.

However, it is need of hour that the Civil Society and Ngos should work in tendon to take initiative of plantation, The Media, known as forth pillar of state, must bring awareness T.V programs regarding forestation.

It is open secret that the malpractice of cutting down trees is on peek across the country. The Family planning sector of country must play its   instrumental role in addressing population explosion and turning its goals into action in letter and spirit by providing Family Planning Services including contraceptive surgery for males and females at free of cost.

It is need of the moment to stop rising urbanization on name of so called   mega housing schemes on installments. It had led to rapid deforestation everywhere in Pakistan. Such menaces of rising population and turning forest into cheap housing business are no less than a safe haven for heat wave and scorching sun.

Days are not so far, when Pakistan would once again enjoy the liking weather of summer as in heydays of 1990s by mitigating the climate change challenges
