Pakistan’s strategy to access the Chinese capital market is revealed by Finance Minister Aurangzeb.

SHENZHEN: With the launch of the Panda bond, Pakistan’s Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb has emphasised the nation’s ability to take advantage of economic prospects by joining the Chinese capital markets.

At the “Pak-China Business Forum” on Wednesday, he made the declaration.

Shehbaz Sharif, the prime minister of Pakistan, headed a group that travelled to China on Tuesday to attend the summit and talk about potential ways to get access to the country’s capital markets.

The Pakistani finance minister, emulating the Egyptian model, stated during his speech to the forum that there is a good chance of this project being implemented effectively.

He guaranteed that Pakistani officials are in continual communication with Chinese regulatory authorities to oversee the initiative’s preliminary phases, and he pledged that the plan’s implementation will commence in the next fiscal year.

He emphasised that, under Prime Minister Sharif’s direction, this action signifies a substantial change in their economic strategy.

Additionally, Aurangzeb underlined that the two main sectors of Pakistan’s economy that are growing are agriculture and information technology. He credited Shehbaz Sharif’s leadership in implementing structural economic improvements that led to the currency’s stability.

Aurangzeb also revealed a decline in inflation in May, underscoring the nation’s economic resiliency.

He stressed how boosting foreign direct investment (FDI) in the form of business-to-business investments will promote joint ventures and experience transfers between both nations and how the special economic zones (SEZs) will be a critical pillar in promoting export-led growth.A further highlight of the conference was the rise in foreign investments in Pakistan, which indicates that foreign investors are becoming more confident. Aurangzeb gave Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif credit for spearheading these economic gains and creating an atmosphere that is favourable to expansion and advancement.

Consider Every Day as World Environment Day: Expert Offers Serious Advice

Every year on June 5, the world observes World Environment Day to promote awareness of the need to solve environmental issues in order to ensure a sustainable future.Every year on June 5, we mark World Environment Day, which is a sobering reminder of our shared obligation to preserve and protect the environment. Since its establishment by the UN in the 1970s, World Environment Day has served as a global forum for bringing attention to and igniting action on important environmental challenges. Climate change is one of the biggest problems of our day; it is a global phenomena that endangers ecosystems, businesses, and societies. Although it is thought of as a natural phenomena, there have been notable shifts in global temperatures. The overwhelming body of scientific data suggests that human activity—specifically, the burning of fossil fuels and deforestation—has exacerbated these changes.

Every day, we produce carbon emissions via routine activities like using energy and driving automobiles, which have a major negative influence on the health of our planet and contribute to climate change. Overindulgence in carbon compounds exacerbates global warming, causing glaciers to melt, sea levels to rise, and extreme weather phenomena like droughts and floods. The extreme weather that is currently enveloping India is causing us to already notice these effects,” said Tanya Singhal, creator of SolarArise and Mynzo Carbon.

It is critical that we lower key pollutants’ concentrations and carbon footprints in order to lessen the effects of climate change.

Since you cannot eliminate what you cannot quantify, it is imperative that we comprehend the full magnitude of our carbon impact. People may lower their emissions by adopting thoughtful habits if they are aware. It’s not necessary to completely change one’s way of life for this. Instead, we can significantly lessen our impact on the environment by making small, consistent changes like using smart devices, reducing energy consumption, choosing public transportation or carpooling, adopting renewable energy sources, managing waste effectively, and supporting sustainable products, according to Ms. Singhal.

By doing these things, everyone of us helps to ensure a sustainable, healthy environment for everyone and protect the earth for future generations. Here, little is huge! And the only way we can make sustainability second nature and preserve the earth is if we consider every day to be World Environment Day,” she continued. People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) India is putting up billboards in cities all around the nation on World Environment Day 2024 with a clear message about being vegan, which scientists claim is the single most effective thing people can do to save the environment.

The meat, egg, and dairy industries destroy valuable forests to make room for the animals they exploit and slaughter as well as the crops they grow for food, all the while releasing greenhouse gases that exacerbate the climate crisis. As a result, our world is in peril, says Dr. Kiran Ahuja, Manager of Vegan Projects at PETA India.

Write a Comment
According to the UN, “one of the top two or three most significant contributors to the most serious environmental problems, at every scale from local to global” is the raising of animals for food, and it accounts for nearly a fifth of greenhouse gas emissions caused by humans. According to PETA, the production of meat and dairy products, such as cheese and curd, is responsible for almost 60% of all greenhouse gas emissions linked to food.

At the movies: Godzilla Minus One revives the fear of monsters.

Netflix has Godzilla Minus One (PG13), a 125-minute film.
Four stars

The plot: Following World War II, a Japanese pilot named Koichi (Ryunosuke Kamiki) is left physically unscathed but psychologically scarred after an event on a secluded island involving a monster the locals refer to as Godzilla. When he returns, Tokyo has been destroyed by an air strike, and hunger is imminent. The thing he believed he left behind reappears to endanger everyone he loves, even as he makes an effort to move on from his past with fellow survivor Noriko (Minami Hamabe) and an orphaned infant.

After much anticipation, it is now available on Netflix.

This small Japanese movie, which came at a cost of US$12 million (S$16 million), had to make room for Godzilla X Kong: The New Empire (2024), a Hollywood production with ten times the budget.

Godzilla Minus One, the 2024 Academy Award winner for Best Visual Effects, adds what the American product does not: the monster’s horrible nature.

Japanese writer-director Takashi Yamazaki pulls terror from the title character’s ability to hide beneath the waters and strike out of nowhere, taking inspiration from Steven Spielberg’s Jaws (1975) and Jurassic Park (1993).

The monster, which was described as being the size of a Tyrannosaurus in the first chapter, gnaws on human flesh when on land. The feet and tail crush humans like bugs as it reaches skyscraper heights. The vivid, detailed computer-generated visuals of mayhem are a welcome change from Hollywood’s current fixation with gloomy combat scenes.

The creature isn’t given any kind of motivation in the narrative. Behind their eyes is primal aggression, not thinking. In contrast, the current American adaptations attempt to adapt the plot into a Monsterverse by Marvel, which results in films that are too long and heavy on exposition, lead-ins, and spin-offs.

Furthermore, the tale could not be more Japanese or simpler.

The humiliated Koichi stands in for a Japan after the war that is still reeling from its loss. But he transforms from a sad figure to a victorious one by selflessness, resiliency, and forming alliances with like-minded others. Japanese characters become heroes because they put forth more effort than anybody else, but American heroes ascend because they are gifted.

Godzilla represents nature; he is fierce and mysterious. In the political satirical Japanese film Shin Godzilla (2016), bureaucrats prioritised preserving their careers over rescuing lives amidst an approaching natural calamity.

The phrase “the monster is our problem, we will have to save ourselves” appears many times in Godzilla Minus One.

Hot take: This film manages to provide real emotion in addition to incredible action, as it pays tribute to the common Japanese people who band together to lift their nation out of difficult times.

PM guarantees international investors’ assistance and the availability of resources.

KARACHI: Foreign investors would get unwavering support, according to Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, who also assured resource availability.

During his visit to the friendly nation, the premier praised China’s developmental accomplishments as model examples while attending the Pakistan-China Business Forum in Shenzhen on Wednesday.

PM Shehbaz emphasised during his speech at the summit the value of promoting more investment and strengthening ties between the two countries.

He reaffirmed the government’s commitment to provide the required facilities to international investors and companies and announced the creation of a business council to encourage investments in Pakistan. The Prime Minister emphasised Pakistan’s wealth of resources and the country’s potential for economic expansion.

In reference to security issues, Sharif conveyed his sympathies over the unfortunate event in which five Chinese nationals perished due to terrorism in Besham.

He reiterated China’s position as Pakistan’s reliable friend and ally, providing assistance in difficult circumstances, such as during hostilities, natural catastrophes, or on international fora.

The Prime Minister committed to prioritising the safety of Chinese nationals employed in Pakistan by assuring them of increased security measures.

In a meeting with Transsion Holdings’ founder and chairman, Zhu Zhaojiang, the premier expressed appreciation for the company’s desire to increase its investments in Pakistan’s mobile manufacturing industry and investigate prospects in electric motorcycles, contemporary agriculture, and fintech.

Shehbaz Sharif instructed the appropriate authorities to work with Transsion Holdings to create a plan of action.

Speaking on the problem of inflation, Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb said that steps taken by the government have produced encouraging economic data, such as a narrowing of the current account deficit.

Pakistan’s investment potential, especially in IT and natural resources, was underlined by Foreign Minister and Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar, while Pakistani Ambassador to China Khalil Hashmi cited Shenzhen’s advancements as an example of how the two countries should collaborate.

Imran Khan will shortly be released from prison.

RAWALPINDI/LAHORE: Imran Khan, the party’s founding chairman, would be declared innocent in every case and will be released without making any concessions in exchange for his freedom, according to Intezar Panjutha, the lawyer for the PTI.

Speaking to the media following the legal eagles and the family’s meeting with the imprisoned leader at Adiala Jail on Tuesday, Panjutha stated that the former prime minister is serving his sentence for the good of the country and that he is steadfastly refusing to strike any deals that go against his moral convictions.

The meeting took place when the PTI was beginning to see some positive changes after the Islamabad High Court ruled that Khan and his close aide, Shah Mahmood Qureshi, were innocent in the cypher issue, providing a ray of optimism during their legal battle.

Barrister Salman Safdar, the attorney for both PTI leaders, briefed Imran about the court’s ruling in the cypher case, Panjutha informed journalists after the visit to Adiala Jail.

In response to Imran’s contentious statements on the sad events of 1971, Panjutha stated that the former premier’s criticism of how the events were handled was based on the findings of the Hamoodur Rahman Commission Report. He said that the study had shown that, out of all the army’s fighters, just one person “showed incompetence” throughout the conflict.

According to him, Imran has also made accusations against Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi’s and his wife’s assets that were made public in the “Dubai Leaks,” casting doubt on his “extravagant” lifestyle at a time when the nation’s economy is reeling.

Alvi criticises the absence of responsibility
Dr. Arif Alvi, a former president and leader of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), said on Tuesday that the nation has lost billions of rupees due to regime changes, with no one held accountable.

Alvi expressed his disappointment over Pakistan’s ongoing lack of accountability, saying it has been a problem since Ayub Khan’s time, at a news conference in Lahore that was attended by PTI leaders Azam Khan Swati, Pir Syed Muhammad Habib Irfani, Rana Mudassar, Khurram Virk, and Yunus Chishti.

Alvi bemoaned the corruption and wrongdoings that had sapped his optimism for accountability, saying, “The entire elite class is the biggest obstacle in the issue of accountability, and the people also believe that there is no justice in Pakistan.”

Alvi expressed his thanks to the judiciary for what he considered to be a legitimate ruling and hailed the Islamabad High Court’s (IHC) finding in the cypher case. He insisted that the Prime Minister had the right to disclose private information to the public and criticised the media for drawing attention away from more urgent problems by concentrating on the cypher and “iddat” incidents.

Alvi emphasised that conversations should only take place with the major authority when asked about negotiations with political opponents, pointing out the futility of current attempts.

“For the past two years, there have been constant negotiations through the media; there have been no in-person discussions. “Why should I try to negotiate if there is no chance of success?” he said.

‘Modi premium’ in India’s financial markets expected to decline following his lacklustre win.

June 5, London/New York (Reuters) – The muted support that Prime Minister Narendra Modi received from Indian voters weakens the case for reforms that benefit business, and foreign money managers are now hesitant to pour more capital into the fastest-growing economy in the world.
After storming to power a decade ago, Modi’s Hindu nationalist Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) won a third term in office, but this time without a majority of its own.

As the ballots were counted and net foreign selling reached a record $1.5 billion on Tuesday, India’s stock market endured the worst selling since the pandemic began. On Wednesday, stocks gained some ground again.
Investors argue that since the party is losing ground mostly in rural regions, labour and land reforms—which were supposed to generate wealth and growth—will likely be shelved while leaders concentrate on bolstering the party’s flagging rural support.

Global fund managers should exercise cautious due to the uncertainties, since they are largely underweight on India despite last year’s robust purchasing, according to HSBC data.
“Some regions of the country felt left behind, even though the government was really focused on business,” stated Alessia Berardi, head of emerging macro strategy at Amundi Investment Institute, the research division of the largest asset management company in Europe.

“So a more inclusive economy, a more efficient economy is important,” she stated.
Stocks that were heavily valued in anticipation of growth fueled by infrastructure and manufacturing investment slid from the market the most, while companies exposed to rural demand—like Nestle India (NEST.NS) and Hero MotoCorp (HROM.NS), which makes motorcycles—rose.
Bond prices declined as investors factored in the possibility of more welfare expenditure and a postponed budget reduction. The carefully controlled rupee plummeted to a seven-week low.

“India has been rewarded with a valuation premium for government stability over the past ten years…some of that valuation premium came out today,” M&G Investments portfolio manager for India and Asia Vikas Pershad said.
“I think priorities might shift a little in the short-term…so more benefits for the rural consumer, the rural working poor.”

34 news networks receive a contempt notice from the SC for airing speeches by Mustafa Kamal and Faisal Vawda.

KARACHI: 34 TV networks received a notice of contempt from the Supreme Court of Pakistan (SC) for broadcasting Senator Faisal Vawda and MQM-P leader Mustafa Kamal’s “anti-judiciary press conferences.”

On Wednesday, the contempt of court case against Kamal and Vawda was heard by a three-member panel of the highest court of Pakistan, presided over by Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Qazi Faez Isa and consisting of Justices Naeem Akhtar Afghan and Irfan Saadat Khan.

Earlier in May, both lawmakers had criticised the courts in force during news conferences. Vawda underscored the need for proof prior to making accusations, whereas Kamal sought to create moral guidelines for judicial officials, stating that justice could “only be bought.”

In addition to ordering the Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (Pemra) to provide video recordings and Urdu transcripts of Vawda’s May 15 press conference and Kamal’s May 16 press conference, the supreme court on Friday issued show-cause notices to both leaders for their comments regarding the judiciary.

Kamal’s attorney, Barrister Farogh Naseem, asked the court to accept his client’s one-page, unqualified apologies during today’s hearing.

He clarified that Kamal had, in fact, made reference to ongoing instances involving Riba, or usury. Isa CJP questioned if the Federal Shariat Court received the cases. CJP Isa expressed shock at being exposed to derogatory language in relation to the decision to act suo motu over the statements, raising the question of whether such language was appropriate in any nation.

He underlined that the notification was about criticism of the judiciary, not criticism aimed at him personally. Vawda’s attorney Moiz Ahmed expressed his client’s wish to talk about Pemra, and CJP Isa upheld their right to do so as counsel.

Justice Saadat examined the background in response to Ahmed’s plan to read aloud the questions and answers from Vawda’s press conference, pointing out that Vawda specifically targeted Justices Babar Sattar and Athar Minallah.

CJP Isa questioned Pemra’s prohibition on reporting court proceedings and chastised media outlets for airing offensive language. He emphasised the value of journalistic honesty and denounced people who disseminate lies in order to obtain financial advantage.

34 TV networks were sent notifications by the court for airing disparaging remarks, and they were given two weeks to reply. The court also asked Pemra to respond to the prohibition on reporting court proceedings.

In addition, Kamal’s apology was denied by the SC in the contempt case.

Attorney representing Kamal, Justice Irfan Sadaat Khan, requested him to call a news conference to apologise for the prior presser against the judiciary.

The judge also granted Vawda’s attorney’s plea to reevaluate his response.

Vawda has been allowed a week to respond to the suo motu notice, and the matter has been postponed until June 28.

Vawda asked the supreme court to revoke the contempt of court order that had been given to him, despite having received one from the SC.

Senator Vawda responded in writing to the supreme court, arguing that while other politicians had made similar statements, they were not punished in the same way. These politicians included Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, PTI leader Raoof Hassan, and JUI-F chairman Maulana Fazlur Rehman.

Declaring before the court that he “can never imagine doing any act which lowers the estimation of the judiciary in any manner,” he implored the court to respect and revere the judiciary. He begged the judge to revoke the show-cause order.

How the Indian majority was lost by Modi’s BJP.

First time since the Hindu nationalist leader stormed to power ten years ago, the Indian PM’s Bharatiya Janata Party has not been able to achieve an absolute majority.

Analysts and exit polls predicted a landslide win, but Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi will stay in power with a significantly smaller mandate.

For the first time since the Hindu nationalist leader stormed to power ten years ago, Modi’s Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) was unable to win an absolute majority and will now rely on coalition partners to rule.

AFP examines the reasons why Modi and his party were unable to win with a landslide victory for the third time in a row.

PERILS OF TWISTING HISTORY

(Abdul Wasey Malik)

The distortion of history for specific political gains is dangerous. Political hands use the power of the past to infuse change in the present. Today, to talk about pervasiveness of fake news is common but what is less commonly spoken about is twisting the facts of history which is more precarious than that of promoting fake news. And it is contorted history which has established the foundation for fake news.

Pushers of fake history present extreme leftists as heroes worthy of emulation. By comparing the current political situation to the fall of Dhaka, the PTI is trying to present patriots as traitors and traitors as patriots. Historical facts are totally contrary to what is professed for vested political mileage.

“Mujibur Rahman handed me a letter in an open envelope, dated 25 December 1962, containing a personal communication addressed to the then Indian Prime Minister, Jawaharlal Nehru, requesting him for India’s support to Mujib’s Bangladesh Liberation Struggle”, these are the words of an Indian diplomat Sashanka S Banerjee published by London School of Economics. He was the same diplomat who accompanied Sheikh Mujibur Rahman on Royal Air Force aircraft from London to New Delhi on special orders of Indian Prime Minister Indira Gandhi when Mujib was released from Mianwali Prison in 1972. This shows how close relations Mujib had with Indian intelligence agencies and how India was helping him to break Pakistan. These facts are important to be known by Pakistani nation to identify the real motive behind Imran Khan’s recent tweet where he asked the nation to study the findings of Hamoodur Rahman Commission so that they can know who the real traitor was, but Imran Khan forgot to mention the links of Mujibur Rehman with Indian leadership and Indian Intelligence agency RAW. Imran Khan also forgot to mention Mukti Bahni who were getting military training and aid from India to create chaos in East Pakistan. Imran Khan also missed the historic fact that efforts of creating Bangladesh started much earlier than 1971.

Later on, in a TV interview Raoof Hasan the secretary information of PTI tried to disown the said tweet by confessing that social media of PTI has been operated from outside the country which proves the involvement of international lobbies who want to destabilize Pakistan. After 9 May 2023, PTI used same tactics of disowning those involved in attacking the state institutions but video clips and audio leaks of PTI’s leadership proves that they were giving instructions and provoking the protesters to attack military installations. 16 December 1971 and 9 May 2023 both are the black days in the history of Pakistan when so called popular leaders played in the hands of our enemy just to gain power. Invoking East Pakistan history is a provocation attempt by a party that is now getting frustrated. Another common thing between Imran Khan and Mujibur Rahman was that they both tried to destabilize the country through civil disobedience movement. On March 7, 1971, Mujibur Rahman while giving speech in Dhaka, called for civil disobedience and a non-cooperation movement and by following his footsteps Imran Khan also called for civil disobedience movement in 2014.

In our current environment, it is difficult to distinguish between true and false information. It is vital to know that only by consulting the primary sources and immersing ourselves in accurate historical accounts, it is possible to equip ourselves with the tools to determine the real from the fake.

It is needed that efforts to incite violence for political point scoring must be discouraged as promotion of violence is detrimental for the national cohesion and unity. Today when Pakistan is finally moving ahead, it is once again attempted to destabilize the country. At a time when our friendly countries are ready to invest in Pakistan through Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC), we need political and social stability. As foreign investors get discouraged in the absence of stable investment environment ultimately damaging economy of the country. Political polarization is not the recipe for economic revival. An objective dialogue between political stakeholders is the need of the hour and sooner it is restored, better it is.

The Pak Army’s Explicit Position on National Matters

(Written By: Abdul Basit Alvi)

Presently, it’s admirable to observe Pakistan under the guidance of an Army Chief who communicates directly and offers lucid direction on all fronts. In a world inundated with noise, clarity serves as a beacon amid chaos. Whether in personal, professional, or societal domains, the capacity to articulate messages clearly is paramount. It’s reassuring to witness the clear stance of the Pakistani Army on national issues, as evidenced in the recent Corps Commanders Conference.

During this conference, presided over by Army Chief General Asim Munir, the commitment to pursue justice for the events of May 9 was reiterated. Stressing the imperative for swift and transparent legal proceedings against the perpetrators, it was emphasized that without such action, the nation would remain susceptible to conspiratorial elements. The Pakistan Army’s Public Relations Department, ISPR, revealed that the 83rd Formation Commanders Conference, chaired by Army Chief General Syed Asim Munir, saw attendance from Corps Commanders, Principal Staff Officers, and all formation commanders. The assembly paid tribute to the martyrs and acknowledged their sacrifices in safeguarding the nation. Deliberations spanned the geopolitical landscape, emerging security challenges, and strategies to counter multifaceted threats.

The forum affirmed the nation’s recognition of the deceitful intentions of propagandists and assured their eventual defeat. It was underscored that these elements, backed by foreign-sponsored proxies, sought to disrupt peace and development in Balochistan. The Army Chief lauded the outstanding performance of personnel in anti-terrorist operations, attributing it to rigorous training and high morale. The importance of national support in countering security threats was emphasized, alongside appreciation for Pakistan’s accomplishments on Takbeer Day.

Concerns were voiced regarding ongoing border violations from Afghanistan, particularly the exploitation of Afghan soil for terrorist activities targeting civilians within Pakistan. The sacrifices of individuals in newly merged districts against terrorism were acknowledged, underscoring development as pivotal for sustainable peace. The forum also addressed the situation on the eastern border, condemning extrajudicial killings of Kashmiris and expressing solidarity with their struggle for self-determination.

The rise of fascism in India and its repercussions on minority rights, especially Muslims, was denounced. Full solidarity with the Palestinian people was expressed, condemning human rights violations in Gaza and endorsing international efforts to cease military operations. The forum pledged support for government initiatives to combat illegal activities and foster economic development, including measures against smuggling and power theft. Commitment was reiterated to streamline administrative processes and ensure the dignified repatriation of illegal migrants.

Pakistan’s Army Chief has adopted a resolute stance against the proliferation of negative propaganda. Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Syed Asim Munir has emphasized that negative propaganda and social media trolling will not deter the nation from its path toward the advancement and prosperity of Pakistan and its people. Speaking at a Green Pakistan Initiative (GPI) conference few weeks ago, General Asim asserted that the unwavering support of the armed forces, combined with the collective determination of the nation, will thwart all adversarial forces seeking to obstruct Pakistan’s progress. He called upon the populace to unite in rejecting the influence of these harmful elements, emphasizing the significance of resilience and solidarity in confronting such challenges. General Asim reiterated that negative propaganda and social media trolling would not deter the nation from its pursuit of growth and prosperity, cautioning against any efforts to sow instability.

“In today’s era, achieving complete independence without economic stability is not feasible, and Pakistan will not tolerate any instability on its journey towards prosperity and development. Let us all unite in repelling negative forces and focusing on Pakistan’s trajectory of progress and stability,” he affirmed.

The military’s media division underscored the diverse initiatives of the GPI aimed at ensuring food security and enhancing agricultural productivity in Pakistan. Gen Asim stressed the importance of Pakistan’s hardworking and resilient populace uniting for national progress. He pledged full support from the Pakistan Army for the country’s economic advancement, highlighting how the Army’s efforts would bolster overall national security and well-being.

At another event, addressing the passing out parade of the Pakistan Air Force, Army Chief General Syed Asim Munir emphasized the imperative of respecting constitutional boundaries. He underscored that while the armed forces understand their constitutional limitations, they also expect others to uphold the constitution. General Munir cited Article 19 of the constitution, which delineates the parameters of freedom of speech and expression. He reiterated the importance of adhering to these constitutional constraints and refraining from baseless accusations against others.

In Pakistan, a minority engages in anti-state activities, not only undermining the nation but also attempting to tarnish the reputation of its armed forces. In countries where the military plays a crucial role in ensuring security and sovereignty, targeting the armed forces with propaganda can have far-reaching consequences. As a symbol of national defense and cohesion, the Army often becomes a primary target for malicious narratives aimed at undermining its credibility, eroding public trust, and destabilizing the nation.

Recently, a group in Britain plotting against Pakistan’s armed forces faced failure despite support from “RAW.” Anti-Pakistani elements have conspired to discredit the country’s armed forces, with Adil Raja, a fugitive and convicted Pakistan Army officer, playing a central role in executing this scheme. India’s intelligence agency, “RAW,” is also implicated in this plot. Shayan Ali, a Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf activist in Britain, is also involved in this group, with Adil Raja’s alleged contact in RAW being Rohit Sharma. Audio recordings surfaced on the dark web, revealing that Adil Raja received instructions and funding from the Indian agency “RAW” to incite political and social unrest in Pakistan. The Pakistani government should seek the extradition of Pakistani citizens residing in Britain involved in this scheme. This was not just an attack on the armed forces but a coordinated effort to undermine Pakistan’s stability. To counter such conspiracies originating from Britain, these individuals should be prosecuted in Pakistani courts for their betrayal. Every Pakistani, alongside the Pakistani forces, bears the responsibility to ensure that those who betray the nation and jeopardize its integrity are held accountable. It’s imperative to use all available means to attain justice.

On a different note, a post credited to Shabar Zaidi raised questions about the activities of forty thousand troops during times of peace. However, it was a deliberate misinterpretation of Zaidi’s remarks, taken out of context. Zaidi’s actual proposal pertained to the implementation of geo-fencing for traders, aimed at strengthening Pakistan’s economy, an idea endorsed by the Pakistan Army. To find Shabbar Zaidi’s statement within its original context, the post can be seen on X and Zaidi’s podcast.

Regrettably, in Pakistan, propaganda against the nation and its armed forces frequently cloaks itself under the guise of freedom of expression. In an age of digital interconnectedness and global information dissemination, discerning between genuine freedom of expression and detrimental propaganda has become increasingly challenging. While freedom of expression stands as a crucial human right essential for the functioning of democratic societies, negative propaganda poses a significant threat to truth, trust, and societal cohesion. Freedom of expression forms the cornerstone of democracy, entrenched in international human rights treaties and upheld as a fundamental liberty in democratic nations. It encompasses the right to seek, receive, and share information and ideas through any medium without hindrance or censorship. Essentially, freedom of expression empowers individuals to express diverse viewpoints, challenge authority, and engage in public discourse without fear of reprisal or persecution.

In contrast, negative propaganda entails the deliberate dissemination of false or misleading information with the intent to deceive, manipulate, or incite harm. Unlike legitimate forms of dissent or critique, negative propaganda seeks to erode trust in institutions, exacerbate societal rifts, and undermine democratic values. It often exploits vulnerabilities in the information landscape, such as social media algorithms and echo chambers, to amplify its reach and impact. Whereas freedom of expression is rooted in the pursuit of truth, the exchange of ideas, and the advancement of knowledge, negative propaganda is propelled by hidden agendas like advancing political motives, fomenting violence, or sowing discord for ideological purposes. It is crucial to differentiate between genuine expressions of opinion and the deliberate dissemination of falsehoods or misinformation. While freedom of expression encompasses a wide array of viewpoints, including contentious or unpopular ones, it is imperative to prioritize truth and accuracy. Negative propaganda relies on falsehoods, distortion, and manipulation, often sacrificing truth and accuracy to achieve its objectives. Responsible discourse necessitates a commitment to fact-checking, verification, and evidence-based reasoning. Although freedom of expression fosters informed public discourse and democratic exchange, negative propaganda can result in diminished trust in institutions, societal division, and the encouragement of violence or prejudice. It’s crucial to recognize the potential damage inflicted by propaganda and to take measures to alleviate its effects while safeguarding the right to free speech.

It is heartening to note that despite malicious endeavors by adversaries to undermine, tarnish, and destabilize the nation, Pakistan perseveres in advancing towards prosperity and advancement. Recent assessments from the Asian Development Bank (ADB), State Bank, and Bureau of Statistics indicate a favorable trend in Pakistan’s economic performance. These reports underscore the initiatives undertaken by the State Bank of Pakistan to tackle policy challenges and guide the economy toward positive outcomes. Over the past nine months, Pakistan’s economic outlook has improved compared to 2023, with projections indicating a potential decrease in the inflation rate to 15% by 2025. According to the Pakistan Economic Outlook report, the Pakistani Rupee has stabilized against the dollar, and the Pakistan Stock Exchange has shown a bullish trend. The State Bank forecasts GDP growth between 2 to 3 percent, attributing this to the agricultural sector’s performance, especially in crops like wheat, rice, maize, and cotton during the fiscal year 2024. The agricultural sector saw significant growth, exceeding 7 percent. Additionally, an increase in remittances contributed to a $619 million rise in the current account, as reported by the Central Bank.

The entire nation stands united in support of the Army chief’s and the Pak Army’s stance on national issues, and also supports the military’s firm stance against anti-state elements. The nation unanimously demands punishment for the culprits of the May 9 incidents, who did what our enemies could not do in seven decades. The families and souls of our martyrs also seek strict punishment for the enemies of our homeland and armed forces. The nation unequivocally rejects negative propaganda and misinformation targeting the country and the Pakistan Army. Despite the nefarious intentions of internal and external adversaries, Pakistan remains steadfast in its pursuit of growth and development.

India’s election results in real time for 2024: Narendra Modi wins a third term, but predictions indicate his party won’t take a clear majority.

Narendra Modi claims that India has trusted the ruling coalition “for the third time in a row,” despite statistics suggesting that his BJP party is unlikely to win an absolute majority.

One of the main regional partners in Narendra Modi’s coalition, the Telugu Desam Party (TDP), has allegedly stated that it does not want Amit Shah to continue serving as the minister of home affairs in the event of a new administration.

This implies that either Shah won’t be appointed home minister or there won’t be a government led by Modi’s Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), according to election expert Shivam Shankar Singh.

Presently, the TDP—which has its headquarters in the coastal state of Andhra Pradesh in the south—is the second-largest member of Modi’s National Democratic Alliance (NDA), after the BJP.

In response to media rumours that the opposition alliance was in contact with them as well, the TDP, as we previously reported, backed Modi as India’s future prime minister, asserting that their alliance with the BJP and Janata Dal (United) remained intact.

Dr. Aafia Siddiqui is subjected to sexual harassment in US jail, according to her attorney.

Dr. Aafia Siddiqui, a Pakistani neuroscientist currently incarcerated in Fort Worth, Texas, continues to endure sexual assault, according to her attorney Clive Stafford Smith. Siddiqui, who is serving an 86-year sentence, has reportedly faced ongoing sexual harassment, including a recent alleged rape by a security guard as a form of punishment two weeks ago.

Smith reported to Dr. Siddiqui that she continues to experience physical harassment in addition to ongoing sexual assault. It has been difficult to communicate with Dr. Siddiqui; they used a broken phone to talk through a glass wall, which was only fixed after Smith complained to the jail administration.

Dr. Siddiqui broke down in tears when her sister, Dr. Fowzia, paid her a visit. Then, having forgotten about Dr. Fowzia, the jail officials took Dr. Siddiqui away and locked her up in a different room for sixty minutes.

Smith mentioned intentions to visit Washington shortly and expressed optimism of bringing Siddiqui’s condition to the White House’s notice, but he did not disclose any specifics.

The Pakistan Navy observes World Environment Day (WED) to draw attention to the importance of the environment in Pakistan, raise staff awareness, and persuade them to adopt environmentally friendly behaviours. PN has started a number of initiatives, such as gathering solid garbage from the harbour, planting reedbed plants anywhere it has authority, and launching a massive tree planting effort. Additionally, PN keeps raising awareness among concerned departments and organisations of the government and non-government to work together and take action to stop desertification and marine pollution.

Field Commands and PN Units organise a variety of events to foster a sense of accountability among people for protecting and maintaining our environment. I anticipate that everyone under my direction will work together and approach these tasks with sincerity. In order to raise awareness, the National Institute of Maritime Affairs is working with Bahria University, WWF Pakistan, and the Ministry of Climate Change & Environmental Coordination to host a one-day seminar on the topic of the day.

We have an obligation to safeguard the nation’s future, our offspring, and our huge resources and the abundant gifts of nature.
Recall that an environmentally conscious and clean Pakistan is also a thriving Pakistan! Let’s work together to create a sustainable future where our land and ocean are protected and trees are developed and maintained for future generations on both land and in coastal zones.

400-paar dream is dashed as the BJP admits defeat in Ayodhya

According to analysts, Modi’s performance may have been hampered by the “persistent depression in demand in the hinterland, where most Indian voters live,” notwithstanding the BJP’s “roaring” “400 paar” slogan, as reported by the Economic Times.

A unified opposition made up of both major and small opposition parties setting aside their differences to create the INDIA bloc, which seems to have earned minority votes, might have been one of the other variables that contributed to the outcome, according to the research.

Gandhi was also claimed to have offered alluring incentives to the underprivileged and other caste groups, including big monetary distributions.

Singh was elected to the parliament twice by the Faizabad constituency: in 2014 and 2019, when Modi’s party won 71 and 62 seats in Uttar Pradesh, the most populous state in India.

Recent data from the Election Commission revealed that the BJP had lost seats, bringing its total to 33 in the state. This has caused observers to focus on two major factors that voters prioritised over religion: excessive inflation and unemployment.

“While we are delighted about the temple, people were tired of the BJP,” stated Rakesh Yadav, the head of the Ayodhya Vyapar Mandal, an association of businessmen.

According to him, small business owners were upset that they had been paid less than they had anticipated for the demolition of their stores during Ayodhya’s reconstruction in preparation for the temple’s opening.

The caste system and politics of the temples and mosques won’t always win people over. They may surprise us all because they too want to see progress, he continued.

India’s vote totals reveal that the Modi alliance won by an unexpectedly slim majority.

In Ayodhya, where the Ram Temple was dedicated, the BJP accepts defeat; Rahul Gandhi claims that the people have “punished” the BJP.

As the general election vote counting concluded on Tuesday, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s alliance appeared destined for a slim majority; the vote total fell well short of the predicted landslide, dealing the populist leader a stunning blow.

The trends indicated that Modi’s Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) was not able to secure a majority in the 543-member parliament. After a decade of Modi’s strong, authoritarian governance, having to rely on partners to form the government may add some unpredictability to decisions.

Exit surveys and commentators had predicted a huge win for Modi, whose campaign courted the nation’s 200 million or more Muslims, escalating worries over minority rights.

With agreements to run lone candidates against the BJP’s electoral might, the major opposition Congress party was poised to almost quadruple its number of parliamentary seats.

The BJP’s vote percentage, which was at 36.9 percent after more than 95% of the ballots were tabulated, was somewhat less than it was in the most recent 2019 elections.

By a margin of 152,000 votes, Modi was re-elected to his seat representing the Hindu holy city of Varanasi; this is in contrast to the over half a million votes he received five years prior.

The BJP and its allies were ahead in at least 292 seats out of a total of 543, according to election commission data, which is sufficient for a legislative majority.

However, the Congress had won or was ahead in 98, up from 52, and the BJP itself had only won or was leading in 240, a significant decrease from the 303 it required five years earlier.

After seven stages and a sweltering heat wave between April 19 and June 1, the 18th Lok Sabha elections were finally drawing to an end today with the ballots being tallied.

With 292 seats and 95% of the vote, the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) is in the lead.
BJP hoped that its coalition will secure at least 400 of the 543 seats that were up for grabs.
India, a coalition led by Congress, has so far gained 191 seats, defying expectations.
Uncertainty causes the Indian stock markets to decline by about 5%.

Earlier, the opposition INDIA coalition was ahead in more than 200 seats, greater than predicted, with just approximately 10–15 percent of the ballots cast having been tallied.

Early see-saw patterns made markets uneasy, resulting in sharp stock declines. At 5 a.m. GMT, the S&P BSE Sensex and the NIFTY 50 were both down more than 2%. Benchmark bond rates increased, while the value of the Indian rupee declined vs the US dollar.

After exit polls on June 1 predicted that Modi and his BJP would win handily, with its NDA expected to secure a two-thirds majority and beyond, the markets saw a sharp increase on Monday.

Mail ballots, or paper ballots, were the first to be counted. These were mostly cast by military personnel serving outside of their home districts or by elected officials who were away from home on election duty. In order to enable voters over 85 and those with impairments to cast ballots from home, postal votes were also made available this year.

After the first 30 minutes of counting postal ballots, the vast majority of votes cast via electronic voting machines, or EVMs, are counted, therefore the counting process is anticipated to take several hours.

Congress spokesperson Pawan Khera stated, “These are very early trends; as the day progresses, we will see better results.”

After the votes closed on June 1, TV exit polls predicted that Modi would win handily. However, exit polls have a history of predicting incorrect election results in India. Sixty-four million of the over one billion voters who were registered to vote actually cast ballots.

Modi said on social media that he had won a third term, notwithstanding the current results.

On social networking site X, Modi said, “People have placed their faith in NDA for a third consecutive time.” “This achievement is significant in the history of India.”

A decade after taking office as prime minister, Modi declared over the weekend that he was convinced “the people of India have voted in record numbers” to re-elect his administration.

In an effort to challenge NVIDIA’s dominance, AMD Unveils New AI Chips.

AMD challenged NVIDIA at Computex with its most recent AI processors, the MI325X accelerator, which is slated for availability in Q4 2024. Lisa Su, CEO, gave a presentation on the new product during the function.

AMD has made new AI chips available and revealed a two-year strategy to challenge NVIDIA’s dominant position in the industry.
With the release of the MI325X accelerator in Q4 2024, AMD officially enters the semiconductor industry.
A 35-fold improvement in inference performance over the present MI300 series is the goal of the future MI350 series.

To take on NVIDIA, the market leader, Advanced Micro Devices (AMD) unveiled its most recent AI processors along with a two-year plan for developing AI chips. The MI325X accelerator, which is expected to be available in Q4 2024, was revealed by AMD CEO Lisa Su at the Computex technology trade show in Taipei.

AMD, which is well-known for making the CPUs that power PCs and servers, has progressively increased its market share in the graphics processing unit (GPU) sector, which is now led by NVIDIA. NVIDIA has an 80% market share in the AI chip business, but AMD has deliberately positioned itself to compete in this lucrative sector.

Additionally, AMD has revealed the next MI350 chip family, which will have a new chip architecture and be available in 2025. AMD anticipates that the MI350 will outperform the current MI300 series by a factor of 35 in inference workloads that require computing generative AI answers. Furthermore, AMD unveiled the MI400 series, whose “Next” architecture would be accessible in 2026.

This is an example of AMD’s continued attempts to broaden the range of data centres it offers and capitalise on the increasing demand for AI processors in cloud computing, data centres, and other applications. As AI finds its way into more enterprises, demand for high-performance AI processors is expected to rise.

Afghanistan began their T20 World Cup campaign with a commanding 125-run victory over Uganda.

Afghanistan easily defeated debutants Uganda in Guyana, setting them a target of 184 and dismissing them for 58.

In their inaugural T20 World Cup match in Guyana, Afghanistan crushed debutants Uganda by 125 runs thanks to a strong bowling and batting display.

After Afghanistan’s 183-5 lead was established on Monday by the opening partnership of Rahmanullah Gurbaz and Ibrahim Zadran, left-arm seamer Fazalhaq Farooqi shined with five wickets at nine runs, reducing Uganda to 58 overs in 16 overs.

Following the game, Afghanistan captain Rashid Khan stated, “It was the kind of start we wanted as a team.”

“The attitude is what matters, not who we play.

“It was a fantastic team effort, exemplified by the hard work we have put in over the last few weeks, the way the openers got off to a fast start, and the bowlers’ performances.”

Gurbaz’s 76 from 45 balls, which featured four fours and four sixes, had Afghanistan looking set for a huge total in 2022

Zadran struck 70 off 46 deliveries, including nine fours and a six, showing equally daring form.

The only higher opening partnership in men’s T20 World Cup history was 170, shared by England’s Jos Buttler and Alex Hales, with Gurbaz and Zadran in 2022.

But Uganda was able to retake Afghanistan when Gurbaz and Zadran collapsed in the space of four balls.

After dismissing Zadran in the 15th over to leave the score at 154-1, Masaba made cricket history for the East African nation by getting his country’s first-ever World Cup wicket.

Gurbaz was subsequently taken out by Alpesh Ramjani, who was caught by Riazat Ali Shah at deep square leg for 76.

After Najibullah Zadran was caught by Dinesh Nakrani at deep square leg, Masaba took his second wicket.

Taking the last two wickets was Cosmas Kyewuta.

A court in Islamabad overturns Imran Khan’s conviction for leaking national secrets.

Pakistan’s Islamabad In an Islamabad court, the sentences of former Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi and Prime Minister Imran Khan were revoked in relation to the disclosure of state secrets.

Days before the nation’s general elections, on January 30, this year, a special court constituted at a jail in Rawalpindi condemned Khan and Qureshi to ten years in prison.

In the so-called “cypher case,” Khan asserts that a diplomatic cable supports his assertion that his ouster from office in April 2022 was the result of a plot. Khan was found guilty of abusing the private cable that a previous Pakistani ambassador to the US had transmitted, by the court set up under the Official Secrets Act.

Khan has always refuted the accusation, claiming that the paper showed proof that his political rivals and the nation’s strong military, with assistance from the US government, had planned his ouster as prime minister. The Pakistani army and Washington deny the charge.

Former cricket player Khan led Pakistan as prime minister from August 2018 to April 2022, when he was removed from office by a vote of no confidence in the legislature. He was incarcerated since august of the previous year going through trial in  numerous cases.

But even after the Islamabad High Court ruled that the sentence was invalid, Khan is still incarcerated since he was found guilty in a different case. Khan and his spouse Bushra Bibi received a seven-year term on February 3 after a Rawalpindi court ruled that their 2018 marriage was illegal under Islamic law.

It’s unclear at this time if Qureshi will be permitted to leave custody.

Senior leader of Khan’s Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) party Sayed Zulfiqar Bukhari claimed that the ruling of the Islamabad court demonstrated that the former prime minister’s legal issues were initially the result of fabricated cases.

“The court has now not only thrown this case aside, but also proven that it was yet another example of all the frivolous charges against former PM Khan and one by one, all such charges will soon come crumbling down,” he told Al Jazeera.

Following the US Manufacturing ISM data’s May decline, gold prices rise.

Following a decline in US rates and poor US ISM Manufacturing data, gold bounces back from three-week lows.
Gold’s rebound is further supported by cooling inflation predictions and Asian demand.
After a breakthrough from a bear flag, the technical picture is still negative.

Following the release of US ISM Manufacturing PMI data, which indicates a larger-than-expected drop in May and raises expectations that the Federal Reserve (Fed) would cut interest rates as the US economy cools, gold (XAU/USD) recovered to trade in the $2,340s on Monday.

Data from the Institute of Supply Management (ISM), released on Monday, showed that the ISM Manufacturing PMI shrank to 48.7 in May, below the predicted 49.6 and 49.2 levels. The market-based odds that the Fed will lower interest rates in September increased as a result of the data. The CME FedWatch tool estimated that there was a 59% possibility of a September cut before the publication, but that number had increased to 59% after the release.Because it lowers the potential cost of owning the precious metal, the prospect of lower interest rates is good for gold.

Benjamin Netanyahu Needs to Step Down

The editor of National Newsletter wrote on his Facebook page today on the Israelis’ demands for Benjamin Netanyahu, the country’s prime minister, to step down. I feel obligated, as a humanitarian, to offer a quick commentary on certain people’s points of view about this news item. Hardline Zionists have stated that Benjamin Netanyahu is an excellent leader of Israel and that he should continue leading the country to fulfil the ethnically sacred purpose of the Gaza Strip’s civilian population. They contend that God has entrusted him with the holy task of eradicating all Muslims from Palestine.

On the other hand, some moderate Jews in Israel are calling for Benjamin Netanyahu to resign in protest of his cruel policies, the end of the war, the peaceful release of their hostages, and an immediate halt to the genocide of Gaza’s civilian population. However, Muslims have denounced Benjamin Netanyahu’s heinous and cruel crime of demolishing Gaza and murdering innocent Palestinians, and they have criticised his fascist tactics. They refer to him as the Hitler of this age and a war criminal. They insist that he be held accountable for war crimes. He has perpetually benefited politically from the racial and religious emotions of the Israelites.

To grind the axe, he is inciting hate towards the Palestinians and using blackmail to coerce the Jews. While some Christians have also backed him, the bulk of Christians have vehemently denounced and cursed him for his cruel deeds and the slaughter in Gaza, and many have called for his resignation and the death penalty. During a recent speech in parliament, an Irish lawmaker vehemently denounced Benjamin Netanyahu’s Nazi practices. He detested the massacre of Gaza’s innocent population. He declared three times in his ludicrous speech that Benjamin Netanyahu “will straight go to Hell for his atrocious deeds.”

Having read the opinions of Muslims, Christians, and Jews, I thought it was my moral and ethical obligation to address this matter in order to further the common good and find a peaceful resolution to the conflict. My endeavour to resist hate speech and publications is only motivated by a true desire for peace and the best interests of Muslims and Jews. Since they are people, we must treat them like people.

Without any prejudice, I suggest that Israel must implement UN Resolution of Two State Formula and honor OSLO pact. The International Court of Justice has also asked Benjamin Netanyahu to immediately end war in Gaza and stop the genocide of the Palestinians. This man has put UN Resolution, OSLO Pact and the judgement of International Court into dust bin and is indiscriminately shedding the blood of the civilians of Gaza. A great poet of the sub- continent Mirza Ghalib had said that some persons do not turn into dust after death, rather they sprout like red tulips and roses. Indirectly, he was insinuating that the martyrs do not die and their blood leaves impeccable impact and the future impetus of the sacrifices dazzles the eyes of history. The blood shed of the innocent civilians of Gaza will not go waste. Blood is not water, which is colorless and smell-less. Blood is blood. It has color and smell.

I applaud the Jewish people who are demonstrating against Israeli fascist Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s unspeakable crimes against the defenceless civilians in Gaza. Benjamin Netanyahu is accused of being a fascist and of endangering the lives of all Jews worldwide. He adheres to Zionism. He has committed murder. The day will come when the Palestinians will have the opportunity and authority to gather their forces and launch a full-scale military offensive. If that occurs, the idea of Jews being assaulted in the same way that Muslims are being attacked now would once again shock everyone who values peace and decency.

The carnage of any nation would never be appreciated or tolerated by a lover of mankind. A poet once said that even when wounds heal, they still leave scars. Wounds are recalled by the scars. Will the next generation of Palestinians ever forget what Benjamin Netanyahu’s fascist administration is doing to them? He is living in the wrong era. No nation can ever be destroyed. A Muslim man was recently shown in a video burying his three sons who were slain by an Israeli bombing. in Gaza. “When you meet the Holy Prophet, do complaint against the Muslims that they did not come to save us from the strangling grasp of the aggressors,” he says, gesturing to their lifeless bodies.

Is this not such a tragic scene? Are these individuals not human? The Zionists believe that via their expansionist plans, they would bring their dictatorship to every Muslim nation. Theodore Herzl’s “An Island named Zion: The Political Theory of Herzl” is the manifesto of greater Israel. The goal of Zionism is to subjugate every Muslim nation. They consider it to be a duty imposed by religion. They already have political and economic sway over the Western nations. Christ was crucified by them. Since the Muslims did not exist when Jesus lived, they did not crucify him. As a humanist, I fervently implore Israel’s more astute citizens to remove all political con artists and religious fanatics from the political sphere by democratic channels and encourage.

Better to put an end to this tug of war right away and look for a peaceful resolution and mutual understanding. Some nations’ leaders, who back Benjamin Netanyahu’s Nazi government, are narrow-minded and biassed. Third World War is being invited by them.
Benjamin Netanyahu needs to step down and Israel needs to follow international law if the world is to see peace. He has to be imprisoned, dealt with, and replaced with sensible and moderate Jews. It would be better for Israel to free itself from Zionist shackles and rely on moderate Jews. The parties’ safety is entwined with it.

According to several US senators, any writing or speech critical of Israel ought to be illegal as it constitutes hate speech. I find it astounding when responsible individuals make such claims. Who opposes Israel? Nobody. Not a single Muslim has ever declared that Israel should be destroyed. The UN decision on the two-state formula has been recognized by Muslims worldwide, including Palestinian Muslims.

However, they find it difficult to accept and a bitter pill to take. It has been known as “Palestine; not Israel” for millennia. The Palestinians aligned and accepted the state of Jewish immigration for the sake of peace. These senators do not recognize the sacrifices they have made because they have chosen to ignore the ongoing persecution of Gaza’s civilian population. It is imperative to preserve America’s reputation as a nation that embodies democracy, humanism, and fairness. Will these senators do more to damage America’s reputation? Rather of endorsing, endorsing, and encouraging the slaughter committed by Benjamin Netanyahu’s Nazi state, they ought to call for his resignation and back a moderate, humane, and democratic administration.

The freedoms of speech, writing, and expression are guaranteed by the US Constitution and the UN Charter. I believe that no one should write or talk negatively about any nation, religion, or country, and that we should all respect each other’s flags and nationalities. However, it is our collective right to oppose fascist governments and to stand up for democracy, peace, justice, and humanity. The following phrases are chanted by demonstrators as they peacefully gather throughout the world to oppose Benjamin Netanyahu’s fascist regime: “End War,” “Stop Genocide.” “Palestine Free.” Are these chants directed against Israel or Benjamin Netanyahu’s fascist regime? Are these catchphrases hostile to UN resolutions? Do these slogans oppose democracy, humanism, or human rights?

Then why are the cops attacking these nonviolent demonstrations and processions? Even in Israel, the fascist government drove away moderate and democratic Jews who demonstrated against Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s cruel actions on public streets. Are these Israelis hostile to Israel, their own country? Not at all. I advise the senators from the United States who are considering passing legislation restricting or stifling individual liberty and rights to instead pass legislation to preserve humankind.

Journalist Training Courses Are Needed to Fight “Fake News”

The fight against false news is more important than ever in a time when digital platforms are the primary means of quick information distribution. As defenders of integrity and the truth, journalists are essential in halting this trend. But the spread of false information poses a specific problem that calls for specialised training to provide journalists the abilities and resources they need to successfully negotiate this complicated environment.

The goal of journalism has always been to expose falsehoods and give readers accurate information. But the proliferation of disinformation on an unprecedented scale has been made possible by the emergence of social media and internet platforms. Quickly spreading rumours, fake news, and edited information may deceive millions of people and undermine confidence in established media sources.

In response to this issue, journalistic education programmes have developed to include extensive courses aimed at identifying, confirming, and disproving false information. Digital literacy, ethical reporting standards, and critical thinking are highlighted in these programmes.

In the era of false news, teaching journalists to evaluate the reliability of sources and information is a vital component of their training. This entails confirming the legitimacy of sources, cross-referencing data with several trustworthy sources, and closely examining the context in which data is given out.

Journalists are also taught to spot common misinformation-spreading strategies include manipulating photos or videos, creating attention-grabbing headlines, and selective editing. Journalists can detect and refute false narratives more skillfully if they are aware of these strategies.

Programmes for training journalists also emphasise the significance of moral reporting techniques in the battle against false information. Preserving the values of truthfulness, equity, and openness is crucial for preserving the credibility of journalism and halting the dissemination of false information

Journalist training programmes provide equal emphasis on digital literacy and technological competency in addition to conventional media abilities. Journalists need to be proficient in using digital platforms and technologies for research, verification, and proper information dissemination. This entails making use of social media monitoring apps, data analysis tools, and fact-checking websites.

Furthermore, cooperation and knowledge exchange between fact-checkers, journalists, and IT specialists are critical in the fight against false information. In order to promote a comprehensive strategy for combating disinformation, training programmes frequently include multidisciplinary collaboration.

The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting’s Pakistan Information Centre PsdP initiative was the only one to educate hundreds of journalists in “Fake News and Investigative Journalism” in less than a year. These kinds of programmes for developing the capacity of journalists must be regularly continued by the Pakistani government. The only method to distinguish between real news and fake news is via awareness seminars and training sessions; there are no reliable technological or toolkits available to combat false information or fake news.

The Supreme Court’s whole court starts hearing the SIC plea in assigned seats.

ISLAMABAD: On Monday, the Supreme Court’s whole bench heard a plea from the Sunni Ittehad Council (SIC), a PTI ally, contesting the Peshawar High Court’s (PHC) decision to deny it reserved seats for women and minorities.

The bench, consisting of 13 justices, is led by Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Qazi Faez Isa. Justice Musarrat Hilali is not present owing to a cardiac condition.

The PHC ruling was suspended on May 6 by a three-judge Supreme Court bench led by Justice Mansoor Ali Shah and consisting of Justices Muhammad Ali Mazhar and Athar Minallah. The case was referred to the judges’ committee for the formation of a larger bench because it required constitutional interpretation.

The court said in its written judgement that the issues surrounding the distribution of reserved seats in the national and local legislatures bear on the fundamental constitutional tenet of parliamentary democracy, which is that the assembly’ makeup properly reflects the will of the people.

The democratic mandate requires that reserved seats be distributed in a way that both preserves the electoral process’s ideals of fairness and openness and improves the electorate’s representation in the assemblies. It stated that “it is crucial to prioritise the integrity of the elections in order to ensure that the Parliament continues to be an accurate representation of the people’s will” and allowed appeal.

After the PHC denied SIC’s request for reserved seats, the case was taken to the Supreme Court.

In addition to pleading for the high court’s decision to be overturned, SIC chief Sahibzada Hamid Raza and the speaker of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Assembly filed appeals against the PHC’s ruling in April. They requested that the party be granted 67 seats in the assemblies for women and 11 seats for minorities.

The Election Commission of Pakistan determined after the general elections on February 8 that the SIC would not receive reserved seats for women and minorities as the SIC had not yet filed its list of candidates for those seats. The PHC affirmed the ruling as well.

Nevertheless, the PHC order was put on hold when the ruling was contested in the Supreme Court.

The ECP halted the victory notifications of 77 legislators elected to reserved seats that the SIC was not granted after receiving an order from the SC.

After the PTI-backed independent candidates, who emerged victorious in the polls on February 8, joined the Hamid Raza-led SIC, their party lost its electoral emblem, the “bat.”

But in March, the commission decided that the SIC was not eligible to claim a quota for reserved seats “due to having non curable legal defects and violation of a mandatory provision of submission of party list for reserved seats,” thwarting PTI’s bid to claim the reserved seats.

In addition to refusing SIC the allocated seats, the committee divided them up among other parties.

Tokyo equities close higher, mirroring advances on Wall Street.

June 3, Tokyo (Xinhua) — Monday saw higher closing prices for Tokyo equities, which followed overnight advances in the US stock market as investor morale improved.

The 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average, Japan’s benchmark Nikkei stock index, closed the day at 38,923.03, up 435.13 points, or 1.13 percent, from Friday.

In contrast, the larger Topix index concluded at 2,798.07, up 25.58 points, or 0.92 percent.

Traders observed that despite waning worries over ongoing inflation, the U.S. stock market saw the Dow Jones Industrial Average recover after four days of losses with the biggest one-day rise in almost a year.

Though certain semiconductor-related companies underperformed and speculation about possible policy changes by the Bank of Japan weighed on the market, Tokyo experienced minimal gains throughout the whole trading day, according to local experts.

A decline in car stocks, including Toyota, in the afternoon brought more gloom to investor mood as it was revealed that some vehicle certificates had been improperly obtained.

Insurance, maritime transportation, and securities houses were the top gainers on the Prime Market.

58 issues finished the day unchanged, while issues that advanced outnumbered those that sank by 1,025 to 563.

The first trailer for The Last Dance has Eddie and Venom running away.

Eddie Brock and Venom’s otherworldly bromance is about to come to an end, and it appears like the trilogy is ending on a high note. The Last Dance, the story’s climax, has its debut trailer out from Sony, and it has everything: One-liners, ballroom dancing, extraterrestrial armies, extreme brutality, and even a symbiotic horse.

In the sequel to Let There Be Carnage, Eddie (Tom Hardy) and Venom (also Hardy) find themselves in a difficult situation. They had to deal with being hunted by some rather gnarly-looking aliens in addition to being sought after by Earth police as fugitives. “The duo are forced into a devastating decision that will bring the curtains down on Venom and Eddie’s last dance,” reads the official description. It appears like they’ll enjoy themselves at the very least.

The Last Dance features Chiwetel Ejiofor, Juno Temple, Rhys Ifans, Peggy Lu, Alanna Ubach, and Stephen Graham in addition to being written and directed by Kelly Marcel, who also helmed the first two films. October 25 is when it opens in theatres.

Why would Queen Elizabeth not allow Princess Lilibet to participate in her photos?

Meghan Markle’s daughter Prince Harry was not to be photographed by Queen Elizabeth for a very good reason.

Queen Elizabeth was displeased with Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s Oprah Winfrey interview, so she told their photographer not to take any photos of their baby Princess Lilbet when they travelled to the UK for the Platinum Jubilee in June 2022.

Phil Dampier, a royal specialist, told The Sun that “she realised that any photograph taken of her with Lilibet could have been exploited.”
