Rupee to trade steadily on matching demand and supply for the dollar

KARACHI: According to traders, the Pakistani rupee is likely to be steady against the dollar during the course of the upcoming week due to a balanced supply and demand for the dollar on the currency market, The news reported on Sunday.

The local currency was constant throughout the previous week. On Monday, it ended at 223.95 to the dollar in the interbank market to start the week, and on Friday, it closed at 223.69 to the dollar.

Foreign currency trader: “We predict the rupee to sustain its firming tone in the sessions ahead as the inflows and outflows appear to be equal in the market.”

Rupee

Rupee to trade steadily on matching demand and supply for the dollar

Despite some positive developments this week, the trader continued, investors would still be concerned about the uncertainties surrounding the IMF’s (International Monetary Fund) 9th assessment of the rescue deal.

Saudi Arabia extended the period of its $3 billion deposit into Pakistan’s foreign exchange reserves on Friday. Additionally, the government paid the bond for $1 billion, removing the possibility of a short-term default. Concerns regarding the nation’s capacity to repay its long-term debt yet persist.

The real effective exchange rate (REER), which depreciated from 90 to 100 in October, has the currency market perplexed as to how the rupee managed to stabilise.

In a weekly note, Tresmark stated, “The solution to this can be found in how SBP is scrutinising the opening of LCs [letters of credit] and retirement of existing import obligations.”

“Banks are urged to only settle import payments that correspond to their export payments. The rest gets pushed down the road. “Equilibrium in the interbank market is being maintained by controlling the demand and supply of banks,” it stated.

However, it continued, debt servicing and repayments were depleting the foreign exchange reserves.

IMF negotiations appear to be having problems. Despite being a lender of last resort, it aggressively assesses the ability of borrowers to repay debt, according to the Tresmark research.

Expecting to force it into accepting a free lunch would be “strange.” Analysts were concerned that in that precarious scenario, every day would matter, but they remained optimistic that the essential steps would be made to keep the programme on track.

Everyone is aware that things are not going as usual in light of the aforementioned facts. The research warned that the extreme slowdown in imports “will open another Pandora box around the law & order situation brought on by unemployment, resource rationing, and a shortage of vital commodities and medications.”

Anything past December has the potential to spiral even with efforts to close the gap. Analysts anticipated an influx from friendly nations following the army’s change of command. The first occurred on Friday when Saudi Arabia rolled over a deposit of $3 billion.

As we wait for assurances from friendly countries and the IMF to materialise, December will be crucial for economic sustainability, according to the research.

Iran’s chief prosecutor indicates the suspension of the “morality police”

Tehran, Iran As protests in the nation continue into their third month, Iran’s prosecutor general announced that the morality police had been halted.

The protests started soon after Mahsa Amini, a 22-year-old woman, was killed. Mahsa was detained by Tehran’s morality police unit for allegedly breaking the nation’s laws regarding women’s apparel.

Iran

Iran’s chief prosecutor indicates the suspension of the “morality police”

Prosecutor General Mohammad Jafar Montazeri was quoted by local media as claiming that morality police activities are over while speaking on Saturday at an event about “outlining the hybrid war amid recent protests,” as Iranian officials refer to purported foreign influence in the turmoil.

He reportedly responded to a query about the closure of the morality police by saying that it “had no link with the courts and was shut down by the same location that it had been launched from in the past.”

There were no more indications that the patrolling teams’ work, which was formally charged with maintaining “moral security” in the society, had come to an end. Additionally, Montazeri did not claim that the morality police had been permanently abolished.

Furthermore, there was no sign that the law enforcing the required attire would be changed.

The forces would drive around in white and green vans, usually asking women on the street to repair their headscarves or transporting them to purported “re-education” centres if necessary, although the vans have not been spotted recently in Tehran or other cities.

According to surveillance camera footage the authorities published, Amini seemed to have a stroke in one of those centres. After three days in a coma, she passed away in a nearby hospital.

Her family asserted that they believed she was beaten, despite the coroner’s office’s final report claiming that she died as a result of pre-existing ailments.

Women have played a significant role in the protests that have been ongoing since Amini’s passing, and her name and likeness have been extensively publicised both domestically and abroad. In acts of protest and solidarity, women have also burned their hats and cut off their hair. Woman, life, freedom has emerged as the demonstrators’ catchphrase.

The United States, Israel, European nations, Saudi Arabia, and other countries have been blamed by Iranian authorities for the ongoing turmoil, claiming they used Amini’s death as a “excuse” to harm the nation and its institutions.

The hijab has been a fundamental ideological issue for Iranian officials, who have frequently stated they will not budge from it. It has been required since shortly after the nation’s 1979 Islamic revolution.

However, they have recently given vague indications that they might change how the mandated dress code is applied.

A number of municipal leaders have already made suggestions on how to penalise alleged criminals financially, including the use of artificial intelligence or video evidence.

Drivers who are observed breaking the hijab laws already face warnings and fines, and repeat offenders risk having their cars seized.

Prince Harry taking offence at King Charles’ rejection?

According to rumours, Princess Anne and Prince Edward will represent King Charles III at formal events as The Counsellors of State Bill is now poised to become law.

Despite the fact that both have resigned from their roles as working royals, the humiliated royals are still listed as stand-ins. Prince Andrew and Prince Harry are reportedly out as of the most recent development. They won’t have the chance to manage the affairs in the future.

The other councillors of state are the Prince of Wales, Camilla, the Queen Consort, and Princess Beatrice. The bill was fast-tracked and passed the Commons earlier on Thursday with a succession of uncontested readings from MPs.

There are rumours that Prince Harry would not willingly remove his tile, therefore the Duke and Duchess of Sussexes’ most recent step appears to be a response to his father’s choice.

When Kate and William arrived in the US for their first trip in eight years, the trailer for Meghan and Harry’s eagerly anticipated Netflix docuseries was also made public.

Some claim that Kate and William’s visit was intended to be overshadowed by Lilibet and Archie’s parents. Harry just posted a video message for Christmas while dressed as Spider-Man.

You’re not an actor if you don’t speak Punjabi: A view from Shaan of “The Legend of Maula Jatt”

I The director claimed he chose Fawad Khan to play Maula Jatt instead of Shahid because he wanted to have a solid onscreen combination in a talk with Lashari, the show’s host, Ahmed Ali Butt, recalled at first. Then Butt asked the Zarrar actor if he concurred with Lashari’s choice.

I think a director should always have a vision, and if Bilal has a specific match in mind, that’s terrific, said Shahid in agreement.

The Waar actor then changed the subject mid-sentence to address the use of Punjabi in the movie. However, he asserted, “I personally felt that the Punjabi language should be treated with more respect; rather than being used as tissue paper, it should be worn instead, since it is your pehnawa (clothing). If you are going to use the basic narrative of that “I don’t know Punjabi,” then you are not an actor.

Shahid also discussed how it is essential for actors to perform well in various languages because it is a need of their job. Added he, “It is a very minimum necessary to have appropriate accents for them if you have to do a Pushto film, a Sindhi film, or even an English picture. But it is the actor’s responsibility to prepare oneself in accordance with the film if they are required to work on a French production.”

The Arth actor then praised the The Legend of Maula Jatt cast, emphasising that despite his belief that everyone in the movie spoke Punjabi fluently, the film nonetheless fell short of the mark. Shahid reported: “The fact that the actors could speak Punjabi is admirable; yet, while it was presented properly, there was a lack of certain lyricism. Their conversations ought to have been clear on this point.”

To draw attention to Humaima Malick’s standout performance in the movie, Shahid particularly mentioned her. “If Humaima is the subject, her work was remarkable. Her gait and flawless portrayal of Daro connected with a Punjabi in every way.”

The Yalghaar actor then discussed his personal journey in picking up the aforementioned accent for his roles. “I just appeared in a Punjabi movie, and learning about the production was a process. I sought up every seasoned Punjabi actor and watched every one of their movies. Shahid continued, “I felt as a director that his [Bilal’s] choice was the appropriate one since I knew what I was supposed to do, but I also thought that Maula Jatt’s character had a lot of potential.

There is nothing more gratifying than finishing a shooting schedule, as is the case for Dunki in Saudi Arabia, he stated. We appreciate the beautiful settings and your gracious hospitality. Fans will be ready to welcome Shah Rukh Khan back to the silver screens in exactly 55 days. He never left, yet his absence has now lasted five years. The actor is now preparing for Pathaan, an upcoming action comedy that is a part of Yash Raj Films’ 50th anniversary. The actor recently claimed that prior to Siddharth Anand’s direction of Pathaan, no one was seeking him for action movies.

pathaan

Prior to Pathaan, Shah Rukh Khan claimed that no one would have given him an action movie role. He stated, “Want to do Mission Impossible-ish kind of films.”

Shah Rukh Khan attended the special screening of Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge on Thursday at the Red Sea Festival in Saudi Arabia. The actor talked to Deadline about Pathaan and his motivation for wanting to work in action films. He claimed, “Nobody was taking me for action. I’ve never done an action film. I’ve done extremely nice love stories. I’ve done some social dramas. I’ve done some terrible characters. “I’m 57 years old, and I decided that in the coming years, I must work in action movies; I want to do movies that are somewhat akin to Mission Impossible. I want to direct outrageous action movies.

Shah Rukh Khan continued by stating that India is experiencing a rapid technological advancement. Khan continued, “I think we’ve advanced by leaps and bounds, therefore I want to apply all that information.”

Shah Rukh Khan had previously discussed his motivations for doing Pathaan in June 2022. “It was a lot of fun when we first started filming Pathaan. He said, “It’s an action movie with great co-stars like Deepika Padukone, John Abraham, and Ashutosh Rana. It’s the kind of movie I’ve wanted to do for 30 years. I’ve always considered myself to be an action-oriented person.

In light of this, I believe my perception of Pathaan is that, as an actor, I have hopefully accomplished what I had really hoped to do when I first arrived in Mumbai.

In his 50s, he acknowledged, he is still enjoying the process of becoming an action hero, just as he did in his 20s. “I liked it. Action is enjoyable to perform. It’s getting a bit late (referring to his age). I’m trying to make things work at the age of 56 by being strong and manly. Siddharth and the entire action team have worked very hard. I’m hoping it will work,” he grinned.

“I recall Siddharth telling me the stories of many movies. Sadly, it took us a long time to locate a convenient time to work together. He was carrying a book with the name Pathaan. Sir, maine film ready kar li hai, he would say to me. He sent me a beautiful message that said, “I have this title,” one fine day when we were unable to work on the two scripts he narrated. I was unable to schedule a movie with you. Now, feel free to use the title whenever you wish to create a movie. Siddharth Anand returned to him with a new script, Shah Rukh Khan revealed.

“The movie has travelled a far distance. You will all be able to see it shortly, he continued.

On January 25, 2023, Pathaan will be released in Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu!

Flood relief has already cost $4 billion.

flood

Flood relief has already cost $4 billion.

ISLAMABAD:
On Thursday, Pakistan’s Senate Standing Committee on Planning and Development was informed that the country had so far received financial aid from abroad totaling more than $4 billion to fund flood relief efforts.

According to representatives from the Economic Affairs Division, out of the overall financial aid, international development partners provided $3.64 billion in loans and $435.03 million in grants.

The gathering was informed that the governments and development partners have sent aid in kind for the flood victims.

Senator Dost Muhammad Khan, Ejaz Ahmed Chaudhry, Saadia Abbasi, Hidayat Ullah, Tahir Bazinjo, and Senators Nuzhat Sadiq and Attaur Rehman were present at the committee meeting, which was presided over by Senator Attaur Rehman.

The meeting was informed that the World Bank had granted a loan worth $1.78 billion out of the entire loan amount, while the Asian Development Bank (ADB) had provided a loan worth $559 million.

The Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank also provided a loan of $500 million.

In the meeting, it was brought up that the Islamic Development Bank (IsDB) granted a grant of $700,000 and the ADB extended a grant of $8.28 million out of the overall amount.

The UN announced a $160.3 million flash appeal on August 30, 2022, in conjunction with the government of Pakistan; as of September 15, 2022, $148 million of that amount had been offered by humanitarian pledges.

However, the new plea now urgently requests $816 million to meet the people’s escalating need for life-saving assistance, an increase of $656 million from the original $160 million request.

The UN agencies WHO, UNFPA, and FAO contributed $3.06 million in funding, and China contributed $112.33 million for the process of rehabilitation and reconstruction in flood-affected areas.

The United States donated more than $95 million in financial support, and Japan contributed $7 million.

Additionally, it was disclosed during the meeting that grants worth $4.22 million, $3.48 million, $19.57 million, $62.52 million, and $30.67 million, respectively, had been extended by Canada, Australia, the European Union, the United Kingdom, and the European Civil Protection and Humanitarian Aid Operations (ECHO).

The representatives reported to the meeting that grants totaling $62.5 million, $58.87 million, $0.99 million, $1.05 million, $1.95 million, $0.5 million, $8.6 million, $2.1 million, $2 million, and $4.86 million, respectively, had been extended by the UK (FCDO), Germany, France, Sweden, Denmark, New Zealand, Norway, Qatar, Azerbaijan, and South Korea.

Senator Saadia requested that the authorities maintain openness in the use of the monies and that the committee receive the status report in two months.

The representative informed the committee that the Ministry of Economic Affairs is responsible for coordinating, negotiating, and setting up international aid.

The task of the province administrations, PDMAs, and NDMA is to allocate foreign aid and support to each district.

It was made clear that the World Bank itself was keeping an eye on the entire process and that private specialists were advised to oversee it.

The Mohmand Dam’s recent flooding and storm damage were other topics of discussion at the summit.

In order to raise money for flood prevention and relief efforts, to improve the food situation in flood-affected areas, and to ensure climate-resilient recovery and reconstruction, preparations for the Donors Conference have reached their final phases.

To work with development partners, a steering committee for the coordination of international assistance for flood relief activities was established.

Under the leadership of Federal Minister for Economic Affairs Sardar Ayaz Sadiq, the steering group for coordination’s sixth meeting was conducted at the Ministry of Economic Affairs.

Chris Kaye, the country director for the World Food Program, gave the steering committee an update on the food situation and pleaded with the development partners to offer humanitarian aid.

PM okays Lt Gen Faiz Hamid’s early retirement, according to sources

ISLAMABAD: According to sources, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Friday approved Lieutenant General Faiz Hamid’s request for an early retirement.

Lt Gen Hamid submitted his application to GHQ a few days ago, and GHQ transmitted it via the defence ministry to the Prime Minister’s Office for approval.

During the PTI administration, Lt Gen Hamid held the positions of DG ISI and corps commander in Peshawar. Later, he was appointed corps commander in Bahawalpur.

Hamid made his declaration shortly after Lt General Azhar Abbas, the Chief of General Staff (CGS), made a comparable choice.

The six candidates recommended to fill General Qamar Javed Bajwa’s position as head of the army staff once he retires on November 29, 2022 included the two senior military figures. However, the PM chose General Asim Munir, who took over as head of the military that same day.

PTI “ready” to discuss upcoming elections with the federal government

According to a top PTI representative, the party was open to discussing the upcoming elections with the federal government. He asserted that the “worsening economic position” in the nation was the main problem, though.

PTI “ready” to discuss upcoming elections with the federal government

“Our economic team informed the leadership that if elections were held in November, the nation would go into default. Then we in positions of authority would not be able to exert control over the situation, he said.

The PTI chairman insisted that if the government provided an economic plan, the party leaders could be willing to accept elections in August or September.

Principally, we concur that all national and provincial assembly elections ought to take place on the same day, according to a PTI leader.

Fawad Chaudhry, a prominent PTI leader, confirmed the development by writing on Twitter that his party was prepared to negotiate the election’s framework and any reforms to the ECP if the government called early elections.

Additionally, it has been claimed that President Arif Alvi met with the new Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Gen. Asim Munir, on Wednesday to address the current political climate.

On the other hand, a senior member of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) urged that the Punjab Assembly elections should be held instead of the provincial assembly being dissolved.

He added that Pervez Elahi is distributing significant development funds and employment among members of the provincial assembly, which may have an impact on the election results in November. He thought that maintaining Pervez Elahi as chief minister was more difficult than holding early elections in the province.

Therefore, he continued, “we should hold early elections in Punjab and maintain the federal government.”

He acknowledged that a portion of the government desired to speak with the PTI about general elections in May or June.

However, a lawyer asserted that if PML-N had the necessary support, such a feat would be feasible.

While speaking to The Express Tribune, Pakistan’s attorney general Ashtar Ausaf Ali asked the country’s political leaders to come to a consensus for economic harmony.

According to sources, the PML-N leadership requested that the head of the opposition in the Punjab Assembly, Hamza Shahbaz, travel to Islamabad on Thursday to inform them on the figures.

According to political observers, the PTI may agree to delaying the dissolution of the Punjab Assembly if the government and establishment assure that there won’t be any coercive actions against PTI leaders, particularly Imran Khan.

the chilly air robs your skin of moisture, leaving it dry, itchy, and unpleasant. Under these conditions, the majority of women are uncertain as to whether they can preserve their smooth and radiant skin. If you are also in this predicament, we will resolve it for you .

During the winter season, when humidity levels are high and temperatures are low, it can sometimes cause a variety of skin problems. According to the recommendations of Dr. Rana, you should always use a mask that contains clay and seaweed extract because these ingredients can help draw out impurities, calm spots, and exfoliate your skin.

Dr. Ajay Rana, a prominent dermatologist and cosmetic specialist, gives HealthShots tips on how to care for your skin throughout the winter.

The first and most important step in any skincare programme should always be cleansing the skin.

As the temperature drops, so does the relative humidity, and our skin loses moisture to the dry air around us. Therefore, during the winter, switch to a cleanser with moisturising properties that may hydrate dry skin and strengthen the skin’s barrier to protect it from the harmful effects of cold weather. Additionally, this helps to remove dead skin cells without leaving the skin feeling tight or dry.

Include vitamin C in the routine you follow to care for your skin. Vitamin C has a beneficial impact throughout the winter months and helps protect against UV damage caused by rays that aren’t completely filtered by sunscreen. According to Dr. Rana, “It is also beneficial for skin pigmentation, which helps to promote collagen formation, which ultimately results in a brighter complexion.” [Citation needed]

Be careful! Picking at one’s skin can be a persistent issue.

It is always important to supplement your skincare routine with a nourishing and seasonal diet during the winter months. During this season, consume plenty of beta-carotene-rich squashes like butternut and pumpkin. This facilitates cell renewal, controls skin function, and stimulates collagen production.

IMF requests that Pakistan cut costs

An inquiry for comment from Reuters was not immediately answered by the finance ministry.

The IMF stated last week that Pakistan’s prompt completion of its flood recovery plan is crucial to enable negotiations and ongoing financial support from multilateral and bilateral partners on Wednesday.

When Pakistan was devastated by floods earlier this year, the country was already dealing with a full-blown economic crisis that included decades-high inflation and diminishing foreign exchange reserves. In 2019, it had signed up for a $6 billion IMF bailout programme; the ninth review is presently ongoing.

In a letter to Reuters, IMF resident representative Esther Perez Ruiz stated that “the prompt finalisation of the recovery plan is vital to assist the negotiations, together with continuous financial support from multilateral and bilateral partners.”

IMF

IMF requests that Pakistan cut costs

She continued by saying that IMF staff members are still in talks with Pakistani authorities on how to refocus and better target aid toward humanitarian needs while pushing reform initiatives to maintain economic and budgetary sustainability.

More than 1,700 people were killed and billions of dollars in damage by devastating floods. The damage has been estimated to have cost between $10 billion and $40 billion by Pakistani authorities.

As part of the ninth review of the programme, the finance ministry of Pakistan stated last week that it will “expeditiously” complete the technical engagement with the IMF. However, a concrete timetable for the review’s conclusion has not yet been revealed.

The money will provide the South Asian country with a lifeline as it struggles to persuade foreign markets and rating agencies that it has the resources to cover its external finance needs, including debt repayment.

Early in the following month, Pakistan must return a $1 billion international bond. As of the previous week, the country had $7.9 billion in total foreign reserves with the central bank.

Muslim population in England is rapidly increasing

LONDON: The Office for National Statistics (ONS) released census data on Tuesday showing that the Muslim population in England and Wales had experienced fast growth since the last 10-year census was conducted in 2021.

Although less than half of the population in England and Wales identify as Christians, “no religion” was the second most frequent response after Christianity.

Muslim population in England is rapidly increasing

The decline of the Christian population over time, according to Archbishop of York Stephen Cottrell, was not “greatly surprising” in an age that is becoming more and more secular.

But he asserted that despite a problem in the cost of life and a war in Europe, people still required spiritual sustaining.

“In many circumstances, we will be there for them, giving them food and warmth. And millions of people will still attend our services throughout Christmas “the archbishop remarked.

The largest movement on Earth and its greatest promise for a peaceful, sustainable future, the global faith, is what we will be keeping in mind as we look beyond our immediate surroundings.

The UK census included a question about religion in 2001. It is still optional to respond, but the ONS reports that 94% of respondents did.

In England and Wales, 46.2% of the population, or 27.5 million individuals, identified as Christians, a drop of 13.1 percentage points from 2011.

Muslims increased from 4.9% to 3.9 million, or 6.5% of the population, while “no religion” increased by 12 points to 37.2%, or 22.2 million.

Hindus (one million) and Sikhs (524,000) were the next most frequent respondents, but Buddhists surpassed Jews in number (273,000 to 271,000).

The most recent significant census parts, which covered religion and ethnic identification, have been released piecemeal by the ONS.

Data are supplied separately for Scotland and Northern Ireland.

According to the study, the proportion of persons in England and Wales who identify as belonging to the white ethnic group has decreased by about 500,000 since 2011, from 86% to 81.7%.

The percentage of people who identified as white and from the British Isles was 74.4%, which was a six-point decrease from 2011.

In a decade where Britain continued to experience immigration from eastern Europe both before and after the Brexit referendum in 2016, the category of “other white” increased.

However, the ONS pointed out that respondents had more options to pick from than in 2011, which encouraged them to list additional identities.

At 9.3%, up from 7.5% a decade previously, “Asian, Asian British or Asian Welsh” was the second most prevalent ethnic group after white.

The next largest ethnic group was the fast-growing African population, followed by Caribbean.

African evangelical churches have proliferated in London and elsewhere, providing some succour to the Christian share.

Extension of Senator Swati’s physical detention by four days

In a district and sessions court, Judicial Magistrate Muhammad Shabir heard the argument against Swati’s “controversial” tweets.

The senator’s request to be excused from appearing in court was granted by Swati’s attorney Babar Awan. The senator, according to Awan, cannot be introduced because of “threats” to his life.

In response, Special Prosecutor Rizwan Abbasi said that the ruling should note Swati’s absence from court at the request of his attorney.

Although the court gave the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) lawyer instructions to mark Swati’s attendance via video link, the prosecutor claimed that they intended to bring Swati to court.

The court insisted that Swati should appear via video link rather than attending the following session even though it wasn’t necessary.

On Saturday, the case will now resume.

Extension of Senator Swati’s physical detention by four days

Amir Farooq, Chief Justice of the Islamabad High Court (IHC), heard Swati’s plea against the numerous cases that had been brought against him and the allegations of torture earlier today. Swati had submitted it the previous day.

50 cases had been filed against Swati, according to the lawyer, and he was presently being held in custody physically.

He insisted that Swati should not be given to anyone until he received all the information on all the cases brought against the senator through the interior secretary.

How did the interior secretary manage the provincial inspector generals (IG), the court wondered? Awan did, however, confirm that the interior secretary was in charge of the IGs.

The deputy attorney general was mandated by the court to follow the home secretary’s orders.

Additionally, it commanded him to look into the allegation that the interior secretary was in charge of the IGs.

The court postponed the next hearing in this case until this coming Friday.

Swati had contacted the IHC the day before to ask about the specifics of the accusations made against him in Balochistan and Sindh.

Swati claimed in a plea that he learned of other cases after being turned over to the FIA on physical remand.

He was released on bail in a related matter, according to the plea. In addition, he said, he experienced the harshest torture while he was being held captive.

According to sources, Swati may be killed and subjected to any form of barbaric abuse while being held.

He added that cases had also been filed in other Sindh police stations. When submitted in court, it was discovered that a complaint had been filed in Quetta.

In the petition, he asked for information on the cases that had been filed against him.

PTI The Federal Investigation Agency’s (FIA) Cyber Crime Wing in Islamabad conducted a raid at Senator Azam Swati’s farmhouse in Chak Shahzad two days ago, leading to the senator’s second arrest for reportedly tweeting disparaging remarks about top military officers.

He was eventually brought in front of a judge, who gave him a two-day physical remand and turned him over to the FIA.

Additionally, with immediate effect, the Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (Pemra) banned the transmission and rebroadcast of any of Swati’s speeches, press conferences, interviews as a guest on discussion shows, comments, or tickers on any satellite TV networks.

The FIA Cyber Crime Wing filed an FIR against Swati on November 26 in response to recent “controversial” tweets that were allegedly directed at government officials, including the chief of the army staff. A copy of the FIR was made available to The Express Tribune.

According to the report, the PTI leader began an “extremely offensive campaign of intimidating tweets” against government entities, including the army chief, “with malafide intentions and ulterior motives.”

General Asim Munir assumes command of the Pakistani Army

General Asim Munir became leadership of Pakistan’s army on Tuesday, marking a significant shift of command in a structure that has a significant influence over the country’s government despite possessing nuclear weapons.
Munir, who was appointed as the next commander last week, assumes command as the nation struggles with an economic crisis and the army is embroiled in a political standoff between the ruling party and Imran Khan, the former prime minister.

At a handover ceremony held at the army’s General Headquarters in the garrison city of Rawalpindi, outgoing head General Qamar Javed Bajwa declared, “I am confident that his (Munir’s) appointment would be positive for the army and the country.”

Khan and his followers have recently expressed their displeasure with Bajwa, who held the position of commander for six years. They contend that the army was involved in Khan’s removal as prime minister in April following a no-confidence vote. The army rejected playing any part.

According to Asad Umar, a top adviser to Khan, “General Asim Munir’s first aim is to rebuild the bond of respect and affection between the nation and the military leadership.”

Khan has declared that he will continue his effort to pressure the government into calling for early elections. In addition, he has threatened to dissolve provincial legislatures controlled by his party, raising the possibility of a constitutional crisis.

Munir also has to worry about a potential uptick in militant activity in the nation after the Pakistani Taliban declared a day earlier that they would break their months-long ceasefire with the government.

Imran is not permitted to enter the federal capital, the court rules

The PTI chairman was absent from the court proceeding, thus Judge Raja Jawad Abbas of the ATC enquired as to why and in what place he was presently residing.

Judge Abbas was debating the former prime minister’s request for a temporary release on bail in the matter of organising a rally and meddling in public affairs.

Imran is not permitted to enter the federal capital, the court rules

The PTI chairman was in Lahore and wanted to personally appear before the court, but the Islamabad administration was preventing him from entering the capital, according to the PTI chairman’s attorney, Babar Awan.

Imran’s medical records were provided to the court by Awan before he made this argument, alerting it that the PTI leader was hurt and unable to travel.

The court added that this matter cannot be delayed any longer after noting that the former premier was present at a political event [two days ago].

The court questioned Awan over whether he had a written order prohibiting the ousted prime minister from entering Islamabad. The PTI attorney retorted that he did not have the directive in writing and said that it had been delivered verbally.

The case was then postponed till December 9 by the ATC, which instructed Awan to make sure Imran would show up.

The court said it might also request an explanation from the Islamabad government on the former prime minister’s admittance into the nation’s capital.

“Breaking Section 144”

Imran Khan, the head of the PTI, and other party officials were accused by the Islamabad police of breaking Section 144 during their rally in Islamabad in August.

The federal capital police had announced through loudspeakers that Section 144 had been implemented in the city, but the party persisted in holding a rally, according to the first information report (FIR), filed by Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) Muhammad Anwar.

The PTI leader Shahbaz Gill’s detention and “custodial torture” were the reasons the party leaders took part in the demonstration.

The prosecution against the PTI leaders was “baseless,” according to their attorneys, who also claimed that the protest was peaceful and that the cases were a “effort to suppress” the leaders.

The video clip’s audio was the PTI anthem, giving the impression that it was an aerial view of the PTI’s march to Rawalpindi.

The tweet (attached below) didn’t have a caption when it was posted, yet it still managed to receive around 40.000 likes and 9,000 retweets.

In response to the claims made by the venerable pacer in his authorised biography, Sultan: A Memoir, Malik said to the media, “I don’t know whether Wasim Akram’s writing is a load of jokes or not.”

According to the left-arm pacer’s narrative, Saleem Malik was a narrow-minded, egotistical former right-handed batter who gave him orders to clean his clothes and shoes.

Saleem Malik replied, “Had I been a selfish or negative person, Wasim Akram would not have been given a chance to bowl in the first match and he would not have taken six wickets,” in response to these allegations.

Malik made it clear that there was no need for handwashing while on international travels because there were laundry facilities available. He stated that it appeared that such things were added to the book to make the text sharp.

Wasim shed light on his personal journey during his cricketing career in his autobiography, which generated a sensation within the cricketing community. The illustrious pacer also disclosed specifics of his battles with cocaine addiction following his departure from cricket.
