RAWALPINDI: President Dr. Arif Alvi claims that Pakistan is an independent country that attained independence after a protracted struggle and that its people will never again bow to outside authority. President Dr. Arif Alvi stated that our children are the future of Pakistan while speaking at an event in conjunction with Independence Day celebrations on Sunday at Kashana, a shelter home for abandoned and orphaned girls in Rawalpindi. He claimed that our nation’s founder Quaid-i-Azam constantly emphasised the importance of women to the growth of the nation.
The President also underlined that inclusion of girls in the national mainstream was imperative for development of the country. Highlighting the significance of taking care of orphans in Islam, the president appreciated the institute for providing facilities of food, residence and education. He said Muslim society always stressed on taking good care of deserving children and orphans.
According to President Dr. Arif Alvi, it is the state’s duty to give children appropriate opportunity for work, moral upbringing, and education. He encouraged girls to work hard so they can get an education. He urged ladies to speak their truth and respect teachers and elders, putting an emphasis on character development. The President noted that millions of people died in the struggle for independence while remembering the sacrifices made by our ancestors in the Pakistan movement.
President Dr. Arif Alvi also participated in a cake cutting ceremony and posed for a group photo with children and teachers of the institute. Later, First Lady Begum Samina Arif Alvi distributed gift packs among girls.
