Attack on Imran Khan
On Friday, the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Iran strongly denounced the attack on Khan, the leader of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), who was participating in a lengthy march. The Iranian foreign ministry’s spokeswoman, Nasser Kanani, denounced the murder attempt on former Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan in a statement on Friday.
The spokesperson for the foreign ministry appealed to Almighty God for the former prime minister’s and the other victims of the incident’s injuries to recover quickly. However, the UAE also strongly denounced the attempted murder of former Prime Minister Imran Khan, reaffirming its support for Pakistan and its people in the face of terrorism and bloodshed.
According to a statement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation (MoFAIC), the UAE strongly condemns these criminal activities that are against human values and principles and intended to undermine security and stability.
Recall that shots were fired at the long march container, injuring Senator Faisal Javed, the chairman of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), former Prime Minister Imran Khan, and killing one. At Allahwala Chowk in Wazirabad, the firing incident took place during the long march reception camp.
