An intruder at Queen Windsor Castle was charged with an intolerable security breach. Jaswant Singh Chail, 20, is accused of breaking into the Queen’s home in December 2021 on three counts under the Treason Act.
According to Scotland Yard, Mr. Chail will be punished for violating Section 2 of the Treason Act of 1842, which prohibits “using any hostile material or weapon, or discharging or aiming weapons with the purpose to harm or frighten her Majesty.”
A charge against Mr. Chail has been authorized by Met “after he was caught in the grounds of Windsor Castle on December 25, 2021, holding a crossbow.”
“Mr. Chail has been charged with making death threats, possessing an offensive weapon, and a violation of the 1842 Treason Act,” he continued.
The Crown Prosecution Service reminds everyone that Mr. Chail is the subject of ongoing criminal proceedings and has the right to a fair trial.
