The Pakistani cricket team celebrated Eid ul Adha in Lauderhill, Florida, at the hotel. The team’s wicketkeeper-batter, Muhammad Rizwan, led the prayer. After the Eid prayer, players exchanged greetings and group photos were taken.
Pakistan was disappointed not to make it to the Super 8 stage of the T20 World Cup 2024, so captain Babar Azam, Imad Wasim, Mohammad Amir, Haris Rauf, Shadab Khan, and Azam Khan decided to stay in the United States for a longer period of time.
Amir will soon be leaving for England to become a member of Derbyshire County Cricket Club. Following the team’s elimination, coach Gary Kirsten will also go back to his hometown.
Later tonight, the remaining members of the team are scheduled to travel out of Miami to Dubai and then on to their separate destinations, arriving in Pakistan early on June 19.
Pakistan played their last Group A match at the Central Broward Regional Park Stadium in Lauderhill, Florida, and ended their tournament campaign with a noteworthy three-wicket victory over Ireland.
They lost their opening games against the United States and India and ended up third in their group with four points out of a potential eight.
