PESHAWAR: The NA-45 Kurram by-election voting is now over, and the vote-counting process has started. Imran Khan, the chairman of the PTI, is one of the contenders in this key race from the district.The polls were open from 8am till 5pm without a break.
There are 16 candidates running for office, including Imran Khan, the leader of the PTI, Jamil Khan of Jamiat Ulema e Islam-Fazal (JUI-F), and Sher Muhammad Khan of Jamaat Islami (JI).Jamil Khan, who is supported by the PDM, and Imran Khan are anticipated to compete fiercely.
According to the election commission’s spokesman, there are 198,618 registered voters in the constituency, including 111,349 men and 87,269 women.At 143 polling places, out of which 24 have been designated as sensitive and 119 as very sensitive, voters will cast their ballots.According to District Police Officer (DPO) Kurram, Arbab Shafiullah, transportation of poll materials had begun after security plans for the NA-45 by-elections were finalised.
