Alka was the most watched musician on YouTube according to Guinness World Records in 2022, with 15.3 billion streams and an average of 42 million each day. The Bollywood singer has surpassed Bad Bunny (Puerto Rico), who earned 14.7 billion streams, to take the top spot.
With 17.7 billion streams in 2021 and 16.6 billion in 2020, the report also showed that the versatile vocalist was the most streamed artist on YouTube.
Additionally, close to 25% of YouTube subscribers are from India, according to ChartMasters. By continent, Asia holds the largest market share, while South Korean superstars BTS and BLACKPINK, with 7.95 billion and 7.03 billion streams, respectively, respectively, led the top 10. The Weeknd (5.7 billion) was in 13th position, Drake (2.9 billion) was in 50th, and Taylor Swift (4.33 billion) was in 26th.
