Rana Sanaullah, the federal interior minister, showed up in court on Monday in response to the LHC Rawalpindi Bench’s summons along with his attorneys.
Justice Sadaqat Ali Khan showed his outrage at the Additional DG Anti-Corruption during the hearing and enquired as to the case’s supporting documentation.
The court commented that Rana Sanaullah purchased the plots from the housing association; as such, he is the buyer of the plots, and a case has been brought against him rather than the buyer.
According to the lawyer Anti-Corruption Punjab, the housing society’s NOC has not yet been given. The court stated that NOC is unrelated to the matter in question.
“Prove from whom Rana Sana received money,” the court said. “It has been stated that Rana Sanaullah purchased the lands by accepting bribe.”
The court was also unhappy with the DG Anti-failure Corruption’s to present despite being summoned.
The honourable court ruled that the Interior Minister’s arrest warrant was issued based on erroneous information that was given in the case and that he was declared the nation’s most wanted fugitive without any supporting documentation.
Later, Justice Sadaqat Ali Khan postponed the case’s hearing to October 28 and instructed DG Anti-Corruption Punjab to appear with all necessary documentation at the subsequent hearing.
Afterward, Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah Khan stated that the Sunday by-elections for 3 seats in the Punjab Assembly and 8 seats in the National Assembly were conducted in a free and fair way.
He claimed that this is evidence that the institutions are carrying out their duties within the bounds of the constitution.
He claimed that the Pakistani Election Commission in particular merits praise for handling the by-elections in a responsible and unbiased way.
The PTI Chairman, according to the Interior Minister, is using false and malicious propaganda to disparage the Chief Election Commissioner.
If the PTI leadership wants us to accept their voters’ decisions, then they must equally accept the decisions of those who supported the PDM candidates, according to Rana Sanaullah Khan. He claimed that a democratic stance justifies the acceptance of the outcomes of free and fair elections.
The Interior Minister made reference to the votes cast in favour of PML (N) candidates in various seats when he claimed that his party had gained greater support this time.
According to the interior minister, we have always made sacrifices for the country’s democracy and rule of law. He said that we too dealt with bogus instances during the PTI administration.
The national elections, according to Rana Sanaullah Khan, will go place on schedule, and at that time, the PTI won’t have the backing of its province administrations. He said that the current administration had made challenging choices to prevent a default on the nation’s debt.
He pledged to stop the price increase and provide the average person relief.
