LONDON – The British Army reclaimed control of its Twitter and YouTube accounts on Sunday after they were briefly hacked and used to promote cryptocurrencies and non-fungible tokens.
“Please accept our apologies for the brief interruption in our feed. We will investigate thoroughly and learn from this incident “According to a tweet from the @BritishArmy Twitter account. Previously, the account retweeted several posts about NFTs.
Apologies for the temporary interruption to our feed. We will conduct a full investigation and learn from this incident. Thanks for following us and normal service will now resume.

Additionally, the army’s YouTube account, which had been renamed “Ark Invest” and featured a number of videos about cryptocurrencies, was returned to its prior state.
Currently, it has 177,000 subscribers to its YouTube channel and 362,000 followers on Twitter.
A large international investment company is called Ark Invest. An email and website comment request was sent to the company, but there was no immediate response.
