The Apple iPhone 12 is once more secure enough for French users
After several days of radiation exposure worries, French users of the iPhone 12 can now sigh with relief. Because of fresh test results on radiation levels, French officials expressed alarm about it this month.
According to Reuters, the findings of a software update designed to fix the problem have pleased French officials. If Apple didn’t address the problem, France had threatened to ban the iPhone 12 from being sold there and to recall all handsets.
Apple remained adamant that the radiation levels in the iPhone 12 had been thoroughly examined and were below the acceptable standard for cellphones.
On the day the regulator’s complaint was made public, the company actually stopped selling the iPhone 12, which was introduced in 2020. Because the iPhone 15 was released, the pricing of the iPhone 14 and iPhone 13 dropped. Apple submitted the software update to French regulators earlier this week. Indeed, a storm in a teacup. No word yet on whether those FineWoven cases will be the subject of a similar probe.
