The Pakistan cricket team’s spokesperson announced Thursday, as the green shirts prepared for the upcoming Test series against Sri Lanka, that a member of the player support staff of the Pakistan Test squad had tested positive for COVID-19 and had been placed in five days of isolation.
According to the spokesperson, Masseur Malang Ali’s on-arrival rapid antigen test resulted in a positive result (RAT). He explained that the affected employee will now experience a five-day period of isolation and will be permitted to rejoin the squad once a negative RAT test is returned on the fifth day.
Starting on July 16, Sri Lanka will host Pakistan for a two-match Test series. Thursday morning saw the arrival of the Pakistani team in Sri Lanka.
After arriving, the cricketers participated in a pool session; the first practice will take place tomorrow, according to the spokesperson.
