The Lahore Orange Line Metro Train (OLMT) celebrated its second birthday on Tuesday. Nearly 50 million passengers have used the service since it began on October 25, 2020.A celebration was hosted by the corporation in Lahore, and several dignitaries attended.
An OLMT spokesperson claims that the train has covered 25 million kilometres and made 200,000 journeys with a punctuality rate of 99.99 percent. The company attained a 97% workforce localization rate and up to 50 million riders.
According to a senior official of the Punjab Mass Transit Authority (PMTA), OLMT carried up to 20 million people in its first year.However, the number of passengers increased to about 30 million in the second year, demonstrating that OLMT’s popularity increased as a result of the increases in fuel prices. The programme featured a short award presentation as well as commemorative clips.
