Former Pakistani cricketer Shoaib Akhtar, well known by his stage moniker “Rawalpindi Express,” has distanced himself from the project that bears his name.
Akhtar stated on social media on Saturday that he has split up with the producers of his biography, citing a breach of the contract.
The fast blower announced on Twitter that, “very sorry, I would like to notify all of you that, after careful deliberation over months, I have decided to separate myself from the film “Rawalpindi Express” and its producers by terminating the agreement through my management and legal team.”
The renowned cricketer also forewarned the movie’s producers that if they persisted in making the movie, he would resort to legal action.
If the producers of biography film[s] continue to use my name or events from my life narrative in any way, “severe legal action will be done,” he warned.
Umair Jaswal, a well-known musician and actor from Pakistan who was slated to play “Shoaib Akhtar” in the biopic, withdrew from the endeavour earlier this month.
