Shehbaz Sharif, the current Prime Minister of Pakistan, has been found to be infected with the Covid-19 virus, according to Information Minister Marriyum Aurangzeb on Tuesday.
Shehbaz Sharif had just returned from a trip to London, where he had gone to see his brother Nawaz Sharif, who served as prime minister in the past.
The minister claimed in a statement that was sent out from his official Twitter account that the prime minister had been feeling ill for the last two days and that he had taken a Covid-19 test today on the advice of the doctor.
She made a plea to the people of the country as well as the party workers to pray for a rapid recovery for the prime minister.
The prime minister has tested positive for the virus three times already. He had already contracted Covid-19 in January and June of this year.
After spending five days in London on a private visit, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif returned to Islamabad on Monday. Sharif traveled from Heathrow Airport in the UK to Pakistan on a private airplane.
The premier met with Nawaz Sharif, the leader of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), several times while he was in London, during which time important political issues were discussed.
