Deepika Padukone and Ranbir Kapoor, both Bollywood actors and famous exes, have always maintained friendly relations with one another even after their divorce. The onscreen couple, who debuted in Bollywood in 2007 – Kapoor in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Saawariya and Padukone in Farah Khan’s Om Shanti Om – have come a long way.
The duo has also collaborated on several projects, including Bachna Ae Haseeno and Tamasha. In an interview with Brut India, the Sanju actor praised his ex-girlfriend and co-star Deepika Padukone. Kapoor discussed a scene from Tamasha’s song Agar Tum Sath Ho.
“(It) was championed by Deepika’s performance,” Kapoor said of how the scene belonged to the Ram Leela star. Certain scenes lend themselves to an actor’s character, and this one did because my character was churning and going through something.”
“But I think what Deepika brought to the table, she made it come alive because you really felt pain,” he continued. As a result, the scene was extremely reactive. She was reacting to what I was doing, and I was reacting to what she was doing.”
The actor also discussed his relationship with Deepika, saying the two “always had such a good time working.” He stated that she had “grown so much as an actor.”
