Saudi Minister of Foreign Affairs Prince Faisal bin Farhan stated in his speech at the United Nations on Saturday that Saudi Arabia will continue to support international peace initiatives to address global difficulties and make sure that the goals of future generations are accomplished.
Prince Faisal urged Iran to fully cooperate with the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), fulfil its nuclear programme commitments immediately, and “take serious steps in order to build trust with the neighbouring [countries] and international community” in his speech to the UN’s 77th General Assembly.
“International peace and security are established via collaboration between countries to accomplish growth and prosperity, not through an arms race or ownership of weapons of mass destruction,” he stated.
Therefore, we implore the international community to step up and quadruple its efforts in order to stop the spread of WMD and guarantee their absence from the Middle East.
The foreign minister spoke about regional concerns in the Middle East and advocated further efforts to bolster security and stability. Additionally, he emphasised Saudi Arabia’s desire to work with other countries to create a brighter future for the region, a theme that was also made during the Jeddah Security and Development Summit in July.
