Imran Khan, the founder of Pakistan Tehreeke-e-Insaf (PTI) and a former prime minister, once again turned down the Federal Investigation Agency’s (FIA) request to assist with the probe into a contentious tweet. The FIA team, which included a second director and a sub-inspector, showed up at Adiala Jail to question Khan about the controversial matter. According to those with knowledge of the situation, Khan stipulated that his involvement in the inquiry would only take place if his legal representation was present.
Even when the FIA team visited, Khan would not answer their inquiries without his solicitors present.Notably, in relation to this probe, questions have previously been asked of Umar Ayub, Gauhar Khan, and Raoof Hassan. The investigation’s primary goals are still to identify the person(s) who released the contentious video from Khan’s X account, the reasons behind it, and the events that led to the former prime minister’s X account being closed.
THE TWEET
A contentious video that was published from Imran Khan’s account and linked the present political climate to the disastrous episode of 1971 had already prompted the FIA to launch an inquiry.
The party’s mandate was purportedly stolen by the present leadership, according to the video. The movie allegedly attempted to place the responsibility for Pakistan’s 1971 split on General Yahya Khan by claiming grave wrongdoing by the Pakistani military during the war. Images of contemporary military and civilian figures were also shown in the controversial film, suggesting that they were involved in undermining the PTI’s mandate in the most recent general elections.
