The Redmi Note 12 was first confirmed to be coming this month, and now we have an official launch date thanks to new teasers. The Chinese phone manufacturer has confirmed that the next generation of Redmi Note phones will be available in China on October 27. The Redmi Note 12, Note 12 Pro, and Note 12 Pro+ are expected to be the first three models in the series. These phones are expected to include MediaTek’s brand new Dimensity 1080 SoC, which is a direct successor to the Dimensity 920 found in the Redmi Note 11. (China)
The Redmi Note 12 Pro will have a 50MP Sony IMX766 sensor, according to the teaser campaign. This sensor is 1/1.56′′ in size and can capture up to 2m fusion pixels with OIS and EIS support. This is what the phone will look like. The Note 12 Pro will resemble the Redmi Note 11T series in terms of design, but with a more interesting finish on the back panel. Aside from the usual options with plain colours, it appears that we will get at least one colour option with its own theme.
Aside from that, the Redmi Note 12, Note 12 Pro, and Pro+ will support fast charging at 67W, 120W, and 210W, respectively. This will break the current record for fastest charging held by Vivo’s iQOOs 10 Pro, which charges at a mind-boggling 200W. This can charge a dead battery to 100% in less than 10 minutes.
All phones are expected to have a 5,000 mAh battery and, according to rumours, a 50MP camera resolution, though they may have different image sensors.
Keep in mind that the October 27 launch will only be in China. According to Xiaomi’s usual timeline, the global release will take at least a few months.
