Rakhi Sawant, a Bollywood actor and model, has been held in connection with a FIR that actor Sherlyn Chopra has filed against her. The Mumbai police have detained her.
According to reports, Rakhi was scheduled to introduce her dancing academy, which she co-owns with her husband Adil Durrani, on January 19. She was nevertheless taken into custody by Amboli police on the same day.
Sherlyn Chopra tweeted about Rakhi’s arrest to let everyone know. “Amboli Police has arrested Rakhi Sawant in relation to FIR 883/2022,” she tweeted. Yesterday, the Mumbai session court rejected Rakhi Sawant’s ABA 1870/2022.
Rakhi had criticised Sherlyn Chopra for her remarks towards #MeToo accuser Sajid Khan last year. Sherlyn made the claim that Salman Khan was defending the director in a media interview after recording her testimony against Sajid Khan on October 29. Rakhi, however, criticised Sherlyn for her remarks while standing up for Sajid. Rakhi claimed in a statement to the media that the police were aware of which complaints were valid and which were not. Later, Sherlyn accused Rakhi of defamation and filed a case.
Rakhi, who just converted to Islam, reportedly left with her husband Adil Khan Durrani to conduct Umrah.
