Abdul Qadir Patel, Minister for National Health Services, Regulations, and Coordination, appreciated United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) assistance to flood victims around the nation on Friday.
The minister said that UNICEF has helped Pakistan during all of its trying times at a meeting with Abdullah A. Fadil, the organization’s country director in Pakistan. He asserted that the government was making use of all available tools to assist in the rehabilitation of flood victims.
The conference included topics related to the health sector as well as the current flood crisis, according to a representative for the ministry.
The minister was grateful for UNICEF’s assistance and collaboration in the field of health.
According to Abdul Qadir Patel, malaria, diarrhoea, and other water-borne illnesses are starting to spread in the flood-affected areas as a result of the stagnant water.
He claimed that natural disasters and catastrophes are plaguing Pakistan. He noted that flash floods had wreaked havoc in Pakistan and that no one could handle this natural disaster alone.
He said that Balochistan, Sindh, KPK, and southern Punjab had all experienced a catastrophic tragedy as a result of torrential flooding. He said that efforts were being made by the federal Health Ministry and the provincial governments to adequately assist the flood victims across the nation.
In the flood-affected areas, according to Abdul Qadir Patel, malaria, diarrhoea, and other water-borne ailments are on the rise as a result of the stagnant water.
He said that tragedy and natural calamity have struck Pakistan. He stated that no one could handle this natural disaster alone and noted that flash floods have wreaked havoc in Pakistan.
He claimed that southern Punjab, Balochistan, Sindh, and KPK had all experienced severe disasters as a result of torrential flooding. According to him, the federal Health Ministry and the provincial governments are working to efficiently assist the flood victims across the nation.
We are well aware of Pakistan’s issues, and UNICEF will help Pakistan in a crucial way. He said that although UNICEF has opened field offices in Sibi, Multan, D.G. Khan, Sukkur, Lasbela, and Hyderabad, relief materials worth $9 million US have been given to flood victims.
