ISLAMABAD: According to the party’s senior vice president Fawad Chaudhry, the PTI will file a lawsuit in the Lahore High Court (LHC) against 19 candidates for the Punjab by-election who were de-notified by the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) in May.
The 19 PTI members had been de-notified by the ECP for voting against party policy for PML-Hamza N’s Shahbaz in the Punjab chief minister election on May 23.
Twenty constituencies will hold by-elections on July 17 following the disqualification of more than two dozen members.
Fawad stated in a press conference that the candidates are not eligible to run in the elections, citing Article 63 of the Constitution, and that the PTI would file a petition in the LHC on Friday regarding this (tomorrow).
He continued, “Aleem Khan is not running in the by-election, so we won’t file a petition against him.
Fawad continued by asserting that the PML-supporters N’s are not prepared to vote for traitors and that the PTI and PML-Q alliance will win all 20 seats in the upcoming by-elections in the province.
He added that the PML-N has lost the majority in the House as a result of the addition of five more PTI members, saying “Hamza Shahbaz’s government is a guest of 10 days.”
“PTI will be ruing in Punjab after July 22,” he added.
Fawad slammed the PML-N and demanded that the court take the solar scandal seriously. He urged the authorities to take notice of reports that PTI Chairman Imran Khan’s pilots were receiving threatening calls from ominous numbers.
