Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s travel to China next month, according to Minister for Planning and Development Ahsan Iqbal, is anticipated to give the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) project a fresh boost.
Speaking to the media in Islamabad on Wednesday, he expressed regret that PTI Chairman Imran Khan hoped to harm Pakistan’s reputation abroad by the protracted march.
He said that the CPEC project saw no advancement during the PTI administration.
The general elections will take place in October of next year, according to the minister of planning. He stated that the population census results would be available by March of the following year, and that the Pakistani Election Commission would then need four months to delineate the constituencies.
According to him, the government would devote its complete attention to flood victims’ rehabilitation over the course of the next five to six months.
He claimed that in order to face the problems of terrorism and the destruction caused by the floods, Pakistan now needs stability and togetherness.
