ISLAMABAD: On Thursday, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif discussed how the Parliament operates and what its members are up to.
The prime minister tweeted, sharing a letter addressed to Raja Pervez Ashraf, the speaker of the National Assembly: “It is important to involve our people in the parliamentary proceedings. They ought to be aware of how Parliament operates and what their elected officials are doing.
“As a political activist and a supporter of the party that upholds the constitution of Pakistan, you are well aware of its importance,” the prime minister wrote in the letter.

The premier listed the following topics for parliamentary meetings when describing the duties of the House, including:
Reforming the national system; Examining the development and effectiveness of the institutions; Finding solutions to societal issues; Affirming and promoting the rights of the general public; and Significant legislative issues.
PM Shehbaz continued by saying that the leaders of all political parties and democratic groups agree that people need to be made aware of the significance of the Parliament. “People should be informed about how both Houses of Parliament operate, especially young people.
He called attention to the following issues that require awareness:
What purpose do the Parliament’s standing committees serve?
How are the agendas presented to and discussed by these committees?
How and under what procedures do opinions become laws?
How do you communicate?
How do lawmakers come to an agreement?
