Ishaq Dar, the leader of the PML-N, will take over as finance minister on Tuesday, according to a report from Geo News. The decision was made during a meeting between party leader Nawaz Sharif and prime minister Shehbaz Sharif on Saturday in London.Dar will return to Pakistan next week, according to a statement made earlier today by Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah.
Dar himself had stated yesterday that he will swear to office as a senator as soon as he got back. The former finance minister declared that he will carry out whatsoever task Nawaz and Shehbaz gave to him.The government’s economic team will continue to include Miftah Ismail, the current finance minister, according to sources.
