The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has released a revised schedule for the three ICC World Test Championship fixtures between Pakistan and England, set to take place from October 7 to 28. The second Test, originally scheduled at Karachi’s National Bank Stadium, has been moved to Multan Cricket Stadium due to ongoing renovations at the Karachi venue in preparation for the ICC Champions Trophy 2025.
The revised schedule features the first Test to be held from October 7 to 11 at the Multan Cricket Stadium. The second Test will now also take place in Multan from October 15 to 19, while the third Test is set for October 24 to 28 at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium. This adjustment ensures that all matches will be played at venues that are fully equipped to host international fixtures.
The England men’s cricket team is expected to arrive in Multan on October 2, coinciding with the gathering of the Pakistan men’s cricket team in the same city. This synchronization allows both teams to acclimatize and prepare ahead of the series.
Usman Wahla, the PCB Director International, expressed excitement about welcoming the England team back to Pakistan, highlighting the importance of this series for fostering international cricket relations.
The England squad for the upcoming series includes notable players such as Harry Brook, Ben Stokes, Joe Root, and Ollie Pope, among others. This lineup promises competitive matches as both teams aim to secure crucial points in the ICC World Test Championship.
Overall, the PCB’s efforts to ensure the smooth conduct of international cricket fixtures, along with the ongoing upgrades to their facilities, underline their commitment to enhancing the cricketing experience in Pakistan for players and fans alike.
