Congo Virus Claims Another Life in Quetta – 1 More Victim Succumbs
QUETTA: According to reports, a second victim of the Congo virus passed away on Friday at the Fatima Jinnah Hospital.
Two days ago, the patient was admitted to the hospital. His infection with the deadly virus was confirmed by medical professionals.
At least 40 individuals have been admitted to the hospital this year with the virus. 15 of them perished.
This is not the first time that Balochistan has seen a Congo virus fever pandemic. Numerous people died of the illness between the late 1980s and the mid-1990s, according to medical authorities.
The virus can cause internal bleeding, severe fever, muscle pain, and tick bites, which are commonly found on cattle and other livestock. There is presently no vaccination or particular therapy for the virus, which has a high mortality rate.
