SYLHAT: In a thrilling game on Tuesday, Pakistan’s women’s cricket team upset Sri Lanka by five wickets to win the Women’s T20I Asia Cup. This was Pakistan’s fifth victory in six games.
At the Sylhet International Cricket Stadium, Sri Lanka decided to bat first after a weather delay. With their powerful batting, Lanka’s Chamari Atapattu (41) and Oshadi Ranasinghe (26) gave their team a dominating lead.
Pakistan was set a target of 112 runs by Sri Lanka, which they easily achieved in 18.5 overs despite losing five wickets.Tuba Hassan’s neutralisation of Atapattu caused the Lankan defence to collapse like a house of cards.
