On Wednesday, Pakistan denounced the “despicable” act of the Holy Quran‘s destruction in the Netherlands, emphasising how the action wounded the feelings of the world’s 1.5 billion Muslims.
Another disgusting instance involved Edwin Wagensveld, a Dutch member of the far-right Pegida organisation in the Netherlands, who trampled on holy book pages before tearing them.
According to media accounts, the event happened on Sunday of last week, but the police didn’t become involved. Pakistan, Turkey, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates are all Muslim nations who denounced the occurrence.
The Foreign Office released a statement that read, “It is unquestionably a provocative Islamophobic hate crime conducted under the cover of freedom of expression.”
Pakistan has consistently maintained that exercising one’s right to free expression entails obligations, according to the communiqué. The statement continued, “We also think that it is the duty of national governments and the international community as a whole to avoid such heinous acts, which are committed with the secondary intent of provoking and inciting religious enmity and violence.
