ISLAMABAD: On the invitation of Chinese Premier Li Keqiang, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif will make his first trip to China from November 1-2, according to a statement released by the Foreign Office on Wednesday.Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari, the foreign minister, will be a part of the high-level delegation.
The spokesperson added in a statement, “This would be the prime minister’s first trip to China since taking office in April 2022 and comes after his meeting with President Xi Jinping in Uzbekistan on September 16.”According to the FO spokeswoman, the prime minister will be among the first world leaders to travel to Beijing after the historic 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China.
The spokesperson stated that after a number of Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) and agreements are likely to be concluded at the 11th meeting of the CPEC Joint Cooperation Committee, the visit is also anticipated to promote the extensive bilateral cooperation agenda (JCC).The JCC meeting will end on October 27, according to a spokeswoman.
